Don’t forget Central Magnet applications are due January 31st by 4:00!

 

High School Students:   Registration for the 2017 AP exams will begin on January 30 and end March 10, 2017.  The process will be similar to last year.  Students will complete the registration form and return it with the payment to Mrs. Hogue in the attendance office.  The cost of each exam is $93.  


Seniors:  Regions is offering an essay contest for $5000.  See the Guidance Financial aid page for a link.

 

Ten Minute Play Auditions are next Monday immediately after school and next Tuesday during C&D lunch in Mrs. Winton's room.  Shows are directed by Mrs. Winton's Theatre 3 class.  You don't have to have anything prepared.  Auditions are for high school students only.  Hope to see you there.

 

We will have E club rotation Tuesday.  All Middle School and High School mentors please go to the mentoring page for the discussion topics to be used for meeting #4.

 

Bradley elementary is in need of 10 volunteers for a math night on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 5:30- 7:30.  You can receive 2 hours of community service.   If you are interested, sign up in Mrs. Huffman's office.

 

Middle school science Olympiad that was scheduled to meet after school on Monday will be postponed. We will not meet after school today- again NO middle school science Olympiad after school

Math team members that plan to go to the IML on Thursday need to see Mrs. Pigg or email if you have not already done so.

 

Lady Tigers lose at York 48-36. Maddie Sandman scored 13 & Sydney Smith had 10.

 

All Middle School boys soccer players need to meet today after school in room 226.

 

The high school swim team competed in their Region swim meet in Nashville last Friday. Several high school swimmers, including Elise Jones, Anna Weis, Nick Gill, and Daniel Wendt, broke the school record in their events. Kaira Sweetman, Anna Waldecker, and Nick Gill also qualified for State in their individual events. All of these record breakers and State qualifiers, in addition to Marlee Bratsch, Morgan Ouellette, Vinny Cantrell, and Eli Waldron medaled in their events. Congratulations to all our high school Region swimmers for a great meet!

 

The middle school swim team did a fantastic job, too, at their Region swim meet on Saturday. Kailey Orr won 1st place for being the fastest girl in the Region for the 50 Freestyle, and she took home 2nd place in the girls' 100 Freestyle. Reece Long won 4th place in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Freestyle. Justin Clemmer won 9th place in both the 200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Congratulations to all our middle school swimmers for an awesome meet!

 

High school and middle school swimmers, please stop by Coach Cook's room today in 5th period to pick up your medals or ribbons. 

 

The Central Magnet Men's Basketball team picked up another district win Friday night when they defeated York by a score of 39-35.

Patrick Blair and Michael Brown each scored 8 points each and Wes Deffield chipped in 6 points. 

The Tigers will be in action tomorrow night when they travel to 1st place district leading Macon County.

 

Congratulations to Kathryn Hays for being named WGNS all county player as well as Rutherford county all tournament player for the 2016-2017 season! 

 

The archery teams competed in the Winter Time Tournament at Stewarts Creek on Saturday.  The MS team lost to Stewarts Creek MS by 88 points for their first loss in two years in the MS division.  The HS team beat out Stewarts Creek HS by 140 points to take first place in the HS division.  Individually, Dominic Swader placed 1st  in the MS Male Division, Samantha Upchurch placed 2nd  and Alison Blanton placed 1st in the HS Female Division.  The archery teams will be shooting at the John Coleman Tournament on Saturday, Feb 4th.
