Seniors!
To help you and your parents navigate through the milestone of your final year at Central, we are having a Senior Class Parent Meeting on Tuesday, August 29 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be in the auditorium. We will provide information on ordering the items you will need for graduation, deadlines for submitting information, the Central Magnet Diploma of Merit, graduating with Honors and Distinction, the Senior Banquet, and more. "Juniors and Seniors interested in social sciences: We are starting a Rho Kappa chapter here at Central Magnet. This is a National Social Studies Honor Society. You must have a 3.0 in all social studies classes that you have taken as well as an overall 3.0 average. Rho Kappa will meet in Dr. Edge’s room, 204, during club time on “B” rotations and on Wednesday mornings bi-weekly from 7:15-7:55. This society will also participate in National History Day."
The University of Alabama at Hunstville, Belmont, and Rhodes College will all have representatives on hand for College Corner this Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 12:30-1:30. Stop by and visit them!
The middle school cross-country team competed at the Raider Twilight Run in Bowling Green, KY on Saturday evening.
The boys placed 2nd out of 9 teams. Top finishers were Blake Yuenger and Ian Calender.
The girls placed 2nd out of 8 teams. Top finishers were Samantha Ouellette and Mikayla Morrell.
"There will be a tennis parent meeting in Room 336 in the annex on Wednesday, 8/30/17, from 5PM to 6PM. If you plan on playing tennis in the spring this year, please attend with a parent. Anybody that has not met Coach Taylor yet, please find him and introduce yourself. Tryouts will be in October."
There will be a rock band interest meeting next Tuesday, September 5th, in the band room from 3:30-4:00. Any students who want to participate in Rock Band need to be in attendance.
