What is the Golden Cup?

The Golden Cup is a friendly competition between classes that is becoming a
Central Magnet tradition.  The Golden Cup aims to promote school spirit and
students' feelings of investment in their school by encouraging participation
in academics, athletics, arts, and other extra-curricular activities.

How does my class win the Golden Cup?

It's easy... obtain more points than the other three classes.  For more information
on the breakdown of the points total, see the link on the right side of the page.  For
information about upcoming opportunities for points, see the calendar below.

Why do I want my class to win the Golden Cup?

Each year a plaque is added to the base of the Golden Cup with the winning
class' graduation year and a ribbon is added to the cup in the class' color.  On the
current cup, there are places for over 20 plaques and ribbons.  When your class
comes back for it's 20 year high school reunion, you will be able to look at the cup,
remember the year (or years)  your class was victorious, and brag about how
awesome you were.

How does my class earn points?

There are many opportunities to earn points.  Students can earn points by attending
specified events, participating in extracurricular activities, participating in dress up
days, being on Principal's List and Honor Roll, and more.  Each time points are
offered, class participation is ranked from 1st - 4th.  The point values awarded to
each place are listed below.

1st: 40 points
2nd: 30 points
3rd: 20 points
4th: 10 points
