Graphing Calculator Information
A class set of graphing calculators will be available for students to use in the classroom. Several online calculators are available for use at home. One of my favorite online calculator resources is DESMOS.COM.
Students and parents looking to purchase a calculator might consider the TI-84 series or the TI-Nspire series. If you choose to purchase a TI-Nspire, please be aware that the TI-Nspire CAS is not an acceptable calculator for standardized testing (including the ACT). The TI-Nspire CX is allowed on calculator portions of state testing and the ACT.
Please note that graphing calculators are not allowed for use for students taking the grades 3 – 8 math portions of TNReady assessments. Under Math, choosing Grades 6-8 will connect you to a document with testing information. The seventh page of this document addresses calculator use for testing.
