The application period for 2021-2022 is over.
Students must be residents of Rutherford County in order to attend Central Magnet School.
- The application process for the 2021-2022 school year was between December 1st, 2020 and February 1st, 2021.
- Applications were due by February 1st, 2021, no later than 4:00 P.M.
- Applications for the 2021-2022 school year were available December 1st, 2020.
The final grades for the 2018-2019 and the 2019-2020 school year will be required as will standardized test scores from the same school years. A test will be given at Central Magnet School to replace the TN Ready scores from 2020. A student will choose one of the following dates and times on the application.
January 26, 2021 4:00 P.M.
February 6, 2021 8:00 A.M.
February 6, 2021 12:00 P.M.
February 11, 2021 5:00 P.M.
For safety, all CDC recommendations will be followed during testing.
Students that have standardized test scores from 2019 and 2020 were not required to take the test administered at Central.
Applications were available beginning December 1st. You should receive an email in a timely manner when you submit your application. If you don't receive one in a few days, please contact us at 615-904-6789.
Students are assigned points based on their scores. For example, a 99th percentile in Math will receive 20 points, a 98th percentile will receive 19 points, etc. The points for all categories will be totaled and the students with the greatest number of points will be accepted. The remaining students will be placed on a waiting list in order of their total points. Letters of acceptance or place on the waiting list will be mailed by March 1st.
