Summer Assignment

Summer Assignment

The summer assignment is modified from my extra credit assignment throughout the year. Please check my website for information about that if you’re interested. Over the course of the summer pick one book to read from the list below. During the first 9 weeks every student should schedule a conference with Mr. Cato to discuss the details of the book as well as be able to answer questions that Mr. Cato has about the book. Mr. Cato will be able to determine from the conference whether or not the student has read the book so this is a pass/fail assignment. If a student reads a Tier One book they will get a 100 for a homework grade. If a student reads a Tier Two book they will get a 100 for a Quiz grade. If a student reads a Tier Three book they will get a 100 for a Quiz, Homework, and Class Notes grade. Finally, if a student reads a Tier Four book they will get a 100 for a Quiz, Test, Homework, and Class Notes grade. Failure to read any book will result in a Zero for a homework grade during the first 9 weeks. If you read more than one book then you can schedule additional conferences to receive extra credit based on Mr. Cato’s extra credit policy.
