Rutherford Works-Work Ethic Distinction Cord (Green)

You may attain the Rutherford Works- Work Ethic Distinction Cord by completing the requirements (click link) and turning in your completed application by March 2025. You have received this information through advisory.

Graduation cord for Rutherford Works is a green cord purchased through Jostens.

Please note: this is a completely student-driven process. You are responsible for getting the application, completing all of the application, and turning the completed application in by the deadline.

 

 

HOSA (Navy/Maroon)

 

Central Magnet High School HOSA: Future Health Professionals Honor Cord Requirements The purpose of a HOSA Honor Cord is to provide recognition of a graduating student for his/her involvement in the Central Magnet High School chapter of HOSA: Future Health Professionals,  including his/her leadership in the chapter, the school, and the community; his/her service to the  chapter, the school, and the community; and his/her achievement in health science learning. At  the discretion of the HOSA Advisor(s) and upon successful completion of the following requirements, HOSA Honor cords/stoles may be awarded to members in good standing.  Requirements must be met each year the student is a member of HOSA, and it is the responsibility of the student to maintain accurate records and proof of points earned each year.  In order to receive a HOSA Honor Cord to be worn at graduation, students must submit a HOSA  Honor Cord form to the HOSA Advisor(s) no later than March 15 of the given school year.

 

To wear a HOSA Honor Cord at graduation, a student must:

● be a member in good standing for at least TWO (2) full academic school years, including  senior year  

● maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5  

● attend 75% (3/4) of the scheduled HOSA chapter meetings each year

● actively participate in at least three (3) HOSA-sponsored community service opportunities  

● successfully complete all of the following courses with a grade of B or better

     ○ Honors STEM 1, STEM 2, STEM 3 & STEM 4 All Biomedical Pathway

● actively participate in HOSA fundraisers each year

● Competed at Regional, State or International level for at least 1 year of competition.

 

Graduation Cord for HOSA can be purchased for $5 (payable to CMS HOSA or cash).
