Welcome
My name is Laurie Smithson and I have been here at Central since we opened in 2010! I moved to TN from Atlanta, GA where I taught for 7 years. This will be the start of my 26th year teaching! I also taught at Oakland High School for 5 years and Smyrna for a 1/2 of a year when I first moved here.
I have been married for 23 years and have 3 children. Brooke (21) who graduated from CMS in 2021 and is a Junior at MTSU, Lara (19) a Freshman at Mississippi State University and graduated from CMS in 2023, and my son Luke (16) a Junior at Oakland High. I graduated from Auburn University, however, I have my Master's from Florida State University and my Educational Specialists Degree from Carson-Newman! ALWAYS A TRUE TIGER!!! :)
