Attention Rising Juniors & Seniors - Writing Lab is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year! Writing Lab tutors help other students at Central Magnet with a variety of writing assignments throughout the school year. If you're interested in adding this elective to your schedule, see your English teacher or Mrs. Eubanks in room 104 to get an application! 

There will be no Mu Alpha Theta tutoring Wednesday, January 10th. 

National English Honor Society is now accepting applications from rising juniors and seniors for membership for the 2024-2025 school year. Please see Mrs. Eubanks in room 104 or Mrs. Nau in room 106 with any questions. Applications are completely electronic, and you can scan the QR code on the flyers in your English classes, or access the application on the Central NEHS website. 

If you ordered a class t-shirt, you can pick them up from the library during C and D lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.  We also have extras available for purchase during those times on a first come, first serve basis.  

Middle School Students: Today is the last day to submit your parent permission forms to play volleyball on Friday. Turn them in to Mrs. Phillips in room 230 ASAP.  

Attention All Students:    We will have Reading Rooms available during Friday’s Homecoming Day activities for students who prefer to spend their day in a quieter atmosphere, away from the noise and crowds.  To be in a Reading Room, just sign up in advance in Flex.  If you need help with the process, just see Ms. Dixon. Keep in mind that with the exception of going to the restroom, students who sign up for a Reading Room are to remain there until the next activity.  

Yesterday's Wacky Tacky Dress-Up Totals are as follows: 

Sophomores - 6% 

Seniors - 12% 

Juniors - 14% 

1st place goes to Freshmen with 16% 

 

Tutu Tuesday totals are:  

6th grade with 16%  

8th grade also with 16% 

And 7th grade in 1st with 26% 

Teachers, thank you so much for submitting your totals each morning.  

HS Cheer will sell smoothies at lunch on Friday for $6.00.   

 

High school students,  

This Friday, January 12th, is the LAST day to notify Mrs. Nau of your interest in joining the high school track team. If you have not already received an email from her, then you are not currently on the list. Please see Mrs. Nau in room 106 or email her as soon as possible. Again, Friday, January 12th, is the LAST day to express your interest in high school track.  

The high school boys JV basketball team fell to 6-5 with a 48-44 loss last night at Franklin County. Nathan Deinard led the team in scoring with 14 points, including four 3-pointers.  Carter Sage had 7 points, Tate Morris 6, and Everett Smith 5. Next up is Tullahoma on Homecoming Friday.  

The Lady Tigers got their 12th win of the season and their 1st district win last night defeating Franklin Co. 47-35. The lady tigers were led in scoring by Addison Melton with a career high 34 points, Bethany Jackson added 8pts and Madisen Stanley pitched in 5pts. The lady tigers will try to make it 2-0 in the district when they battle Tullahoma here Friday night for homecoming.   

Stones River Antique Car Club is once again needing Central Magnet School high school students to earn service hours by helping with the Stones River Region, Antique Automobile Club of America Swap meet on Saturday February 3rd and Sunday February 4th at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville.   

Saturday's times are from 5:15 am to 3:00 pm 

Sunday's times are from 5:15 am to 3:00 pm
