If you are testing for the Seal of Biliteracy later this month, you must register and pay for the exam by this Wednesday, Feb. 21st. 

HOSA is sponsoring a blood drive here at Central Magnet this Wednesday, February 21st. If you are 16 or older, you are welcome to sign up online to donate blood. If you are under 18, please make sure you get a parent permission form from Mrs. Hendrixson or Mrs. Harrison prior to the blood drive. You will not be able to donate blood without the signed parent permission form in hand. You can find the sign up link on the Central webpage or on the HOSA webpage. See Mrs. Harrison or Mrs. Hendrixson if you have any questions.

Middle Schoolers: You can vote for the dress up days & sport for the spring spirit day. Scan the QR code on the green flyers around the school or go to the middle school student council website. Voting ends this Friday. 

On Saturday, the CMS Mock Trial team won the District 7 Championship for the second year against Warren County and Coffee County at the Rutherford County Courthouse. The team will compete at the TN Bar Association State Tournament on March 22-23 in Nashville. Team members include Janae Rothe, Hunter Higgs, Adeline Perryman, Ashlyn Dewey, Katie Narrell, Ainsley Russell, Anna Niedzielski, Charlie Fairfax, Grace White, Kyle Carter, Kaylee Victory, Wyatt Petelle, Emma Gray, Rachel Oppmann, Kacey Clark, Ava Frederickson, and Addison Melton.

The high school musical Legally Blonde opens on Thursday, February 22nd! Performances are the 22-24 @7pm and 25th @5pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. You can pay cash or check at the door or scan the QR code on the posters around school to buy on GoFan ahead of time. Come out and support your theatre department with this fun, high energy, and comedic show!

HS Cheer will sell smoothies at lunch on Friday.

The high school volleyball team is hosting a Spirit night at Blaze Pizza on Monday 2/26 from 5-9 pm. Blaze will be donating a portion of the evenings proceeds to our volleyball team. Stop by to dine in or place a to-go order and let them know you are there to support Central. There is a code on the volleyball website you can use for mobile ordering. Thank you for your support!

The Central Magnet Men's basketball team advanced to the Championship game of the 8AAA Tournament on Friday night with a 73-61 victory over Marshall County.

The Tigers were led by Carson Wood with 16 points- including 4 3-pointers, Will Becker with 15 points, and Jake Maddox and Mason Brown each chipped in 14 points each.

The Tigers will take on Lawrence County on Tuesday night at 7:30 for the Championship game.

Last Friday night the lady tigers defeated Lawrence Co. in the semi-finals of the district tournament. Addison Melton led all scorers with 13pts and added 8 rebounds, Madisen Stanley finished with 12pts and 7 rebounds, Julia Stuible added 10pts and 8 rebounds, Reilly McMillian and Bethany Jackson both finished with 3pts apiece.

Last night the lady tigers lost a hard fought battle to Tullahoma in the Championship. Madisen Stanley and Addison Melton each had 10pts, Bethany Jackson finished with 9pts and Reilly McMillian and Julia Stuible each finished with 6pt.

The Lady Tigers will be at home this Friday night for a Quarterfinal Region Tournament game vs Stone Memorial. We invite the student body to please come out and support the Lady Tigers for this important game! There will be a special giveaway at the game and we will announce later this week.

Congratulations to Bethany Jackson for being named to the All District team and Addison Melton was named the District MVP.
