Our Central Magnet School choir department performed incredibly at the MTVA Choral Performance Assessment. Choirs had to memorize three songs and perform them for judges for feedback and scoring. After, choirs had to sight-read for a score (read and perform a piece of music they had never seen before.)

Performance - Excellent (2nd highest possible rating)

Show Choir also qualifies for the ACDA State Choral Festival!

Central Magnet hasn't gotten to perform in the Choral Performance Assessment in over 4 years, so congratulations to all choir students!

Don't forget to sign up for the National English Honor Society Resume Workshop! It is available to any high schooler who is interested. Sign ups are in Flex. There will be an info session on Monday, March 11th and then a workshop on Thursday, March 14th. Email Mrs. Eubanks or Mrs. Nau with questions!

Driver’s Ed students will not be driving today, please report to your aide classrooms.

Prom tickets are on sale now through March 21st on GoFan. The cost for each ticket is $70. Everyone who purchases online must also have a physical ticket. Please present your GoFan proof of purchase starting Thursday during C and D lunch in the cafeteria to obtain a physical ticket. You may also purchase tickets in-person starting Thursday of this week during C and D lunch in the cafeteria. If your date does not attend Central, you will not be given a ticket without the required paperwork even if you purchase through GoFan. "The American Legion Girls State is a citizenship program offered to Junior girls. It is one of the most highly regarded programs in the nation.  This year it will be held at Lipscomb University May 26 through June 1st. Any Junior girl who is interested in attending Girls State this year, needs to see Mrs. Gerhart in Guidance.

Tennessee Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high school students. This year it will be held at TN Tech University May 19th through May 24th. Any Junior boy who is interested in attending TN Boys State this year, needs to see Mrs. Gerhart in Guidance.

Students, please remember that food deliveries are permitted for Seniors on Fridays ONLY

HS Cheer will sell smoothies at lunch on Friday.

Congratulations to the Central Magnet Swim Team. The team will conclude another highly competitive season at their banquet this evening in the cafeteria.

Middle School regional swimmers include Girls: Sibel Dilsiz, Emily Guess, Harper Patterson, and Lorelai Richardson.

Boys: Gavin Chen, Alex Collins, Hank Edge, Judah Faz, Owen Huang, Cooper Olson, Max Patel, and Jay Williams.

High School regional swimmers include Women: Sarah Gwen Arnold, Jackie Dummermuth, Taylor Kline, Mady Oring, Evie Riley, Chloe Roeder, Peyton Roeder, Uma Sood, Sara Grace Terrell, and Peyton Walker

Men: Leo Cho, Cameron Conley, Andrew Dickens, Jean Drugmand, Evan Keegan, Noah Koenig, Elijah Messick, Joaquin Rios, and Nic Sands

High School State Qualifiers: Cameron Conley, Jean Drugmand, Evan Keegan, Evie Riley, and Sara Grace Terrell. Relay-only swimmers included: Sara Gwen Arnold, Jackie Dummermuth, and Joaquin Rios

Not all athletes wear shoes! Congratulations to all 55 swimmers who represented the spirit of Central Magnet School in the pool!

Congratulations to archers from both our archery teams this weekend’s tournament as the MS team placed 3rd and the HS team placed 2nd in the bullseye tournament.  Jackson Harris was the 2nd place HS Male in the bullseye tournament.  In the 3D tournament, the HS team placed 1st.  Individually, Owen Taylor was the 1st place MS Male, Ava Edwards was the 5th place HS Female, Ev Phillips was the 4th place HS Female and Jackson Harris was the 3rd place HS Male.

Congratulations to your CMS Trap Team as the Black Squad remains undefeated.  The CMS Balck Squad won its division at the March AIM Tournament and only narrowly missed the Highest Over All by 6 targets.  Collin Barrett made an excellent sub appearance and Jean Drugmand and Brennen Martin,  the Trap Team Captains, led the team to an overall great result.   Quite the accomplishment considering the competition.  Our next tournament is April 6th, 2024.
