Anyone who wants to give at our last blood drive on April 13 can go to the sign up page on our CMS home page or on HOSA webpage on Mrs. Gates website!  Anyone 16 yoa needs to see Mrs. Gates for a parent permission form!

 

Reminder that today and Tuesday are the days for the National Spanish Exam. If you are registered to take the exam please come directly to Lab 227 on the second floor immediately at the beginning of class to get started. Your teacher knows where you will be. Please also bring headphones. Should you have any questions, you can see Ms. Pinson is the lab 227.

Please congratulate the MS archery team for placing 2nd in the state archery tournament.  The MS team was 14 points shy of capturing their 3rd straight title.  Individually, Dominic Swader was the 1st place MS Male Archer.

 

The HS archery team successfully defended their championship from last year to becomthe two time Tennessee State High School Archery Champions.  Individually, Chase Wyatt was the 5th place HS Male Archer, Samantha Upchurch was the 5th placed HS Female Archer, Kaylie Corban was the 3rd place HS Female Archer, she lost a shootout by one point for 2nd place, and Alison Blanton was the 1st place HS Female Archer.  Chase, Kaylie and Alison all won a $20,000 Scholarship to Bethel University for being one of the top five overall male and female archers

 

For the 3rd straight year, Central Magnet has had the top overall archer in the state.  Alison Blanton shot a personal best 297 out of 300 to become the Top Overall Female Archer and Top Overall Archer in the state.

 

The Archery team also shot in the State 3-D Tournament with a team combined of MS and HS archers. This team placed 3rd in the High School division of the State 3-D Tournament with Nikki Taylor placing 5th in the 3-D HS Female Division and Connor Smathers placing 3rd in the 3-D HS Male Division.

 

Both teams have qualified to shoot at the National Archery Tournament in Louisville, KY in May.

 

 

 

The softball team has a home game against Smyrna tonight. JV will play at 5:00 and varsity at 6:00. The Lady Tigers remain undefeated in district play after a 7-0 win over Smith Co. last week.

 

The Garden Club will be selling chocolate covered strawberries at lunch on Friday. All members need to see coach Argo personally before Wednesday.

 

 

Attention Everyone who loves ICE CREAM! CMS Chess has a sweet deal with the D.Q. on Memorial. This Thursday we will earn 10% of every item sold if you, your friends or family will simply mention our Chess program. This is a great promotion to get ice cream and help our students afford going to NATIONALS. We hope to see every CMS family anytime Thursday at the Dairy Queen across from MTCS.
