If you would like to check out books from the CMS Library this summer, please have your parents fill out the summer reading permission form on our website by this Friday, May 12th.

 

All library books are due by Friday. Please return all of your library materials as soon as possible. If you have questions about what you have checked out, please see any teacher or the librarians. Teachers, we need all of your items by Friday, as well. 

 

The HS soccer team opened up district tournament play with an 8-0 win to celebrate senior night.   Luis Sanchez and Patrick Blair both scored twice.  Cole Yoders, Jacob Apigian, Stephen Falter, Daniel Woods all scored once.

 

Elijah Barritt, Stephen Falter, Luis Sanchez, Cole Yoders, Jacob Apigian, and Patrick Blair all had assists.  Thanks to everyone that came out last night to cheer on your seniors.

 

The Team will play this evening(5/9) at 7pm at the Smith County Soccer Complex against Smith Co. in the District Semifinal.

 

The men's and women's tennis team began individual and doubles play yesterday at Tennessee Tech. 

Congratulations to Mamie Sevier has as she defeated her opponent from DeKalb County 6-0, 6-0 and then defeated her opponent from Merrol Hyde 6-1 and 6-0 to qualify for the women's singles semi-final.

In the double bracket the Central teams of Macy Speight and Molly Speight defeated both of their opponents to reach the semi-finals where they will take on the doubles team from Macon County. Also qualifying for the semi-finals is the team of Sally Smith and Megan Scott as they defeated their opponents 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0 and 6-0. They will take on the team from Goodpasture in the other semi-final match.

On the boys side, Chase Owens and Nathan Zou will play in the semi-finals against the doubles team from Merrol Hyde and in singles both Chetan Gowda and Fant Smith will be taken on opponents from Goodpasture with a chance to play in the championship match.

 

Both the men's and women's tennis teams qualified for region play and will begin team play on Thursday at 1:30 in Chattanooga where the men will take on Signal Mountain and the women will take on Chattanooga Christian.

 

 

Your Tiger baseball team defeated Upperman 8-2 in their second round game of the district tournament. James Touchton got the win striking out 9. Hunter Jones had huge RBI triple off the center field wall to start the scoring for Central. Hayden Locum added an RBI double later that plated 2 runs. The Tigers play tonight at 6:00 vs. the winner of Upperman v Macon Co. 

 

The Lady Tigers lost to DeKalb 6-1 last night. Addie Baird had a double and Ashley Dyer had a triple. They will take on Livingston Academy at 4:45 today. 

 

Congratulations to Addie Baird. She will be signing to play softball with Martin Methodist today at 1:00.

 

 

Congratulations to the middle school track and field team for their fine performance at the middle school sectional track meet last night.

 

Top performances were:

 

The girls 4x200 relay team placed 4th and are going to state. The girls were: Kylie London, Sydney Cuneo, Lilly Smith, and Rayna Taylor

 

The boys 4x200 relay team placed 4th and are going to state. The boys were: Joshua Guaz, Matt Moss, Riley Moore, and Jackson Maguire

 

Samantha Ouellette placed 2nd in the 1600 meter run and the 800 meter run and is going to state in both events.

 

Blake Yuenger placed 6th in the 1600 meter run.

 

Caden Williams placed 2nd in the boys 400 meter dash setting another school record in the event and is going to state.

 

Zoe London placed 1st in the 400 meter dash setting a school record and is going to state.

 

Sarah Fisher Green placed 4th in the 400 meter dash and is going to state.

 

The boys 4x400 relay team placed 3rd and is going to state. The boys were: Eli Harris, Brody Kriegermeier, Carlos Arias Diaz, and Caden Williams.

 

The girls 4x400 relay team placed 1st and is going to state. The girls were: Samantha Ouellette, Sarah Fisher Green, Rayna Taylor and Zoe London

 

The boy's team placed 4th overall and the girls placed 2nd overall in the small school division.
