Students taking the PSAT, make sure you find your testing location prior to Wednesday. You can ask any of your teachers for your location, or you can check the auditorium doors. You will report directly to your testing room Wednesday morning. Please bring your calculator and sharpened number two pencils, no mechanical pencils. Testing will be from the high school drop off to the concession stand downstairs and from Ms. Baty's room to Ms. Quinn and Ms. Taylors hallway upstairs. Students, you will not be able to go to your locker if they are in that area until fifth period. 

 

A representative from TN Achieves will be here on Wednesday at 1:00 for any senior interested in the Tennessee Promise. If this is during your lunch, please take C lunch then head to the concession room for D lunch time if you want to attend the meeting. See your counselor for questions.

 

College Corner will host University of Alabama, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Western Kentucky.

 

The MTSU Foreign Language Department will again be offering College FL Placement Exams here at Central! They will be here on Tuesday, Oct 24th, and the sign up is outside of Ms. pinson's door. This Placement exam helps you know how many classes you could 'test' out of when going to college. First come, first serve, and only open to Junior and Senior Language students currently. See your FL teacher for any additional information. 

 

Attention middle school science olympiad- we will have a meeting in Ms. Lane's room after school this Thursday, Oct 12 from 3-3:45 pm.  Please plan on attending if you wish to be a participant or come see me to make arrangements.  

 

Congratulations to Mrs. Angel's homeroom for winning the middle school student council hurricane donation drive! They collected over 500 items for our hurricane relief project.

Any middle school students that are lovers of math should come to the Chi Alpha Mu meeting during club time on Thursday, October 12th. Chi Alpha Mu is the Middle School Math Honors Society and if you are interested in hearing more about what we do come to the meeting in Ms.Heller's room, room 238, on Thursday. See you there! 

 

 

Middle school golf tryouts will be held this Thursday at Bloomfield Links at 3:30. Please see Coach Cato if you have any questions. 

 

 

Middle School Softball will be holding a fall tryout after school on November 2nd. Students must have a current physical to tryout. See Mrs. Stanley in room 234 if you plan on trying out. Students that came to the summer tryout do not need to tryout again. 

 

There will be a Middle School Track and Field interest meeting for runners and parents on Monday October 16 beginning at 3:30 in Mr. Meadows' class. That room number is 241.

 

Congratulations to the high school cross country teams for great showings over the break. 

 

On Saturday Sept 30, several runners competed in the Burnett Invitational in Cookeville. Leading the way for the boys was freshman Lance Garcia with a time of 18:09. On the ladies’ side, sophomore Olivia Guse paced the group with a time of 22:36.

 

And just the past Saturday, many Tiger striders competed in the Jesse Owens Classic in Oakville, Alabama. Senior Camille Smith scored a personal best with a time of 19:12 and sophomore Fuji Anday did the same for the boys, finishing in a time of 16:21.

 

Your high school cross country teams return to action this Saturday in the Midstate championships in Dickson. Wish them all well!
