As announced this summer, Rutherford County Schools has launched two new technology tools that will simplify how parents receive information and how they interact with their teachers and coaches to learn about their student’s academics, school announcements, and extra-curricular activities.
The first one is ParentVue by Synergy, and this will be used to see your student’s academic information, including report cards, daily grades, missing assignments, class schedules, etc. It is similar to Skyward that we used last year, but it is much more mobile and user friendly. The companion is called StudentVue and contain similar information for students.
The second app, and perhaps the most important, is MyRCS. Search for “Rutherford County Schools” in your app store, and download it for free.
The MyRCS app will be used by parents to receive messages and interact with your school, teachers, coaches, or band directors depending on the activities students are involved in. This is the sole communication platform we are using for this type of communication this year. It replaces platforms such as ClassDojo, Remind, Band or any others as parents have asked for a one-stop source for school information.
Once downloaded, you can select which schools your children attend to receive a live feed of news items from those schools. By adjusting your preferences, written messages families receive are translated automatically into your preferred language. You can also interact directly teachers and coaches using a featured called “Rooms,” which is a secure two-way communication tool.
Rooms launches Monday and Parents will receive an email or text message inviting them to join their teacher’s or coach’s Room. If you don’t get the email or text, that’s ok. Beginning Monday evening you can visit the Rooms section of the app, or use the login button on your school’s website.
For your login, all you need to enter is the cell phone number you have on file with your school or your email address. You should then receive an access code, and you will be logged in.

The Lady Tiger Golf Team took on Blackman yesterday at Old Fort where Stella Levine and JianJian Gao won 95-103. The boys fell to a strong Blackman squad. They were led by Justin Grissom's 88. The Tigers play Macon County in their last regular season match next Tuesday at Old Fort.
HS Volleyball - The Lady Tiger volleyball team moved to 13-2 on the season with a 3-1 district win over Forrest Tuesday night. Emery Bland: 25 kills, 11 digs, 2 aces / Lily Stuible: 6 kills and 6 blocks /Elizabeth Hamilton: 18 assists, 5 kills, 3 aces, 1.5 blocks. Back in action Thursday at home versus Watertown.
MS Volleyball - Your JV Tigers took down Cannon County in 2 sets. Eden Obayomi, Lydia Nundhal and Adalee Jackson led the team in service points while Emma Brown had a great night at the net with 3 kills! The varsity team lost in 3 tough sets, Gabby Castillo and Nora Clancy led the team in service points while Elsa Clancy was force at the net with 5 Kills. They take on Blackman tonight.

The high school cross country team ran a fantastic 5K race on Saturday! Despite the blistering heat and stifling humidity, our Tigers gave it their all and came out on top! The varsity boys won first place in their division with Parker Ward, Nate Dyer, Jason Dyer, Carson Phillips, Aaden Walker, Wyatt Fischer, and Owen Butler all running for our team. Parker Ward, Nate Dyer, and Jason Dyer earned 7th, 8th, and 9th places, respectively, out of more than 105 division runners. The varsity girls finished in third place in their division with Rachel Benefield, Catherine Zubkus, Georgia McCasland, Ollie Egli, Camilla Owens, Analyn Richards, and Olivia Pinson all running for our team. Rachel Benefield earned 5th place out of more than 89 division runners. Way to go to all our Tigers!
Your Lady Tiger Volleyball team had a big Saturday. Traveling to White County high school for the Lynn Canon invitational.. Central went 6-0 on the day; picking up wins over Tullahoma (2x), White Co., Monterrey, Whitwell, and East Hamilton, and claiming the tournament title. Your volleyball tigers hit the road today for a big District eight AA matchup at Forest before returning home on both Thursday and Friday this week.

We had a great turn out but have heard from several students that still want to participate but have another club that meets during C rotation. The Lady Tigers golf team swept Riverdale Tuesday in match play. In match play, each golfer plays head-to-head against an individual from the other team. Emery, Lauren, and Anna each beat their opponent for the team win. The boys fell 4-2, but Justin Grissom won his match up, and Amaan Jemsheer and Camden Reavis tied with their opponents for a half point. In JV competition, the Tigers picked up the win after Brandon Alston and Koen Hickson defeated their opponent, while Will Goette and Dev Bhakta tied theirs. The Tigers take on Blackman next week. The middle school girls soccer team took home another win to bring their season to an 8-0 record. Lydia Luna added two goals to the score board with Hope Clementi hitting the final ball in the net for the lady tigers. Isla Henry had the shut out in the goal. The girls return to action for their rival game of the season tonight at Siegel. Come out and support your middle school lady tigers!
Tiger tennis girls continued their run with another 5-0 win against Siegel Tuesday. Xavier Clarke is undefeated at 3-0 at #1 for the boys. Today's match against Poplar Hill is canceled due to heat and has been rescheduled for September 16.
The Lady Tigers beat Lawrence Co 9-0 last night in district play. Goals: Chloe Huffman, Abbey Mott, Abigail Woods, Gabby Woods (3), Caroline Bogle, Ashira Perkins, Lillie Bryant. Central Magnet Varsity Volleyball had another win last night against Marshall County! Emery Bland led the offense with 17 kills and 5 aces, while Lily Stuible added 11 kills and 4 blocks. Allie Copeland dished out 18 assists, and Ruthie Jerkins added 8 assists and 5 aces. Our next game is here at Central on Monday against Cannon County.
Middle School Volleyball faced Thurman Francis yesterday. Both teams went 3 sets. Elas Clancy had a big night with 8 points, 3 kills, and 1 monster block. Eden Obayomi led the JV team to victory with 12 points and 5 aces!
Central Lady Tigers opened district play with a 3-0 win over Giles Co. Madelyn Brock with 2 goals and Gabby Woods with a goal. Assists by Molly Glover and Camila Sandes. Shutout by Taylor Ertl.

Middle school tennis girls picked up another 5-0 win while the boys went down 2-3 against a hard hitting Dekalb county team in yesterday's match. They take on Siegel Tuesday at 5:30. Wish them luck!

The Middle School Tiger tennis teams celebrated the kick off of their season with wins for both boys and girls teams against Christiana. Congratulations on a great start and good luck against Dekalb tomorrow.

Last night was big for the Volleyball Team! JV picked up their first win of the season, and Varsity kept the streak alive, remaining undefeated!
Varsity came out swinging, led by Emery Bland with 20 kills, while Gabby Baron added 11 and Lily Stuible put down 9 kills with 3 blocks. Ruthie Jerkins and Elizabeth Hamilton kept the offense moving with 13 and 10 assists, while Lexi Malone led the defense with 8 digs. From the service line, Eden Sanders scored 4 aces and Emery Bland added 3. Great job, ladies! Wish them luck against Siegel tonight!

While the Middle School girls volleyball team came up short against Poplar Hill, Nora Casteel led the varsity team in service points with 13 points and Lydia Nundahl led the JV team with 16 service points with 9 aces!
The middle school girls soccer team brought their season to a 6-0 record! The final score was 10-1 with several girls adding to the scoreboard! Come cheer on your lady tigers at Whitworth-Buchanan tomorrow night!

The CMS high school XC team had a great race at the Saturday Light Fever 5K meet this weekend! The runners really showed how much their hard work over the summer has paid off. Rachel Benefield came in 18th out of 284 runners with a time of 19:50, and Catherine Zubkus came in second for the girls' team and ran a 20:50. The boys' team saw Parker Ward running 16:27, Nate Dyer running 16:28, Jason Dyer running 16:31, and Aaden Walker, Carson Phillips, Wyatt Fischer, and Sawyer Evans also scoring points combining to solidify a 5th place team score for the boys.
Congrats to our all our runners on their first 5K race of the season!
Congratulations to the middle school cross-country team, who raced in Lafayette on Saturday. The girls captured second place at the Donna Tucker Memorial race, missing first by a mere 3 points. The boys took first, defeating Oakland, Blackman, and a number of other area schools. Adelyn King was the overall champion of the girls race for the second weekend in a row. Other runners who helped lead the team include Ellen Bolanos, Baird Lane, and Briggs Morris.
The team competes again this Saturday in Gallatin.

The Girls Golf team competed in their third Invitational Tournament of this young season yesterday at Champions Run. The ladies came up one stroke short and finished second in the PCA Invitational to state private school champion Baylor School. Lauren Powell was the 2nd place individual with a 72 and Anna Powell was third. Two weeks ago the girls won the I-24 Invitational over the top teams in the state. Emery Mitchell led the girls to victory finishing 2 under. The girls shattered the tournament record by 8 strokes and won this championship belt. Both Powells are committed to play at Austin Peay and Emery will play for Tennessee Tech. The goal this year is a state title and these ladies are off to a great start.

Lydia Luna led the way with a hat trick, while Veronika Duchacek added another goal to the scoreboard. Isla Henry held down the goal with a fantastic shutout!

The Varsity Volleyball team delivered a statement performance Monday night to open their 2026 season, sweeping the Smyrna Bulldogs in straight sets (3-0)!
The Tigers were firing on all cylinders on both sides of the ball. Emery Bland put on a show at the net, leading the offensive onslaught with an impressive 20 kills while anchoring the defense with 15 digs. Setting up the relentless attack was Elizabeth Hamilton, who dished out 15 assists to keep the Bulldogs off balance all night.
On the defensive end, Libero Lexi Malone was everywhere, diving for 18 digs to keep the play alive and frustrate the Smyrna hitters. Meanwhile, Eden Sanders controlled the tempo from the end line, dominating the service line with 5 aces.

The last day to change to a different class is Aug. 21st. The last day to change levels is August 28th. Change forms are outside of Guidance. Please complete and drop back off to the basket. Keep in mind a class cannot be changed due to a teacher, period, or friend preference. Changes will be processed in the order they are received and by open availability.
The high school cross country team had an amazing season opener at the Siegel 2-mile Under the Stars meet on Saturday night! The girls' team won second place with Rachel Benefield, Catherine Zubkus, Madelyn Brock, Georgia McCasland, and Ashtyn Patterson scoring points, and Rachel Benefield won 2nd place overall with a time of 12:11! The boys' team won 1st place with Parker Ward, Jason Dyer, Carson Phillips, Aaden Walker, and Wyatt Fischer scoring points, and Parker Ward won 1st place overall with a time of 10:04! Congratulations to all of our runners for a fantastic race, and please cheer them on throughout the rest of the season! Go Tigers!

You don’t have to be in theatre class to audition, so please come join us for this fun show!

Parking Passes are on sale in attendance! If you are going to drive and park at CMS you need a parking pass. They are $5.

Tiger Hunt: All students grades 6-12 we have Tiger Hunt this Saturday from 5-8 pm on the front lawn. Bring a lawn chair and come on out. There will be blow-ups, hot dogs, food trucks, and music. It is a great time to meet new friends and teachers. Hope to see you there!
