MATHCOUNTS:
Are you a middle school student who loves math or would like to compete in the MATHCOUNTS competition? Dr. Ye from MTSU will be giving guest lectures on Fridays this semester during all lunches 7th period as we prepare for the MATHCOUNTS competition. Lectures will be held in room 131, where Tiger Time Math Tutoring meets.

SPORTS:
Congratulations to the middle school cross-country team for a great performance at a very hot Bison-Long Hunter Classic meet over the weekend. The girls placed 2nd of 21 teams. The boys placed 5th out of 22. Top performers were Adelyn King, Ellen Bolanos, Baird Lane, and Briggs Morris.

High School Cheer is sponsoring a talent show at CMS on Saturday, September 19th. Show off your talent: sing, play an instrument, dance, juggle, etc. Go by Coach Griggs's room (108) for more information or to sign up.

The high school volleyball team moved to 6-1 on the season with a win Monday night over the visiting Cannon County Lionettes. Emery Bland led the way with 14 kills, Stuible added 10, and Baron added 7. Ruthie Jerkins was the Stripe Squad player of the game after handing out 14 assists and dominating the serve game with 6 aces.
The Lady Tigers host District up and comer Battle Creek tonight in a district 8 showdown. Y’all come out and support.

The Middle School JV Volleyball Team beat Siegel last night 2 sets to 1! Lydia Nundhal and Adalee Jackson each had 10 service points!

The A Cappella Club is accepting new members for the 2026-2027 school year! Come to the interest meeting during C club rotation on Monday, August 31st. Auditions for the A Cappella Ensemble will be held Friday September 4th after school in the choir room. Auditions for the Barbershop Quartet will be held Friday September 11th after school in the choir room.

Attention all returning 7th and 8th grade Jr. Beta Members! Our first community service project of the year begins today and runs until September 30. We are hosting a diaper drive to benefit a nonprofit called "Thriving Together Tennessee"

Your job is to bring one brand new pack of diapers (Any size between 1-5 is fine) and drop it off in the bins outside Mrs. Stanley's room (351 at the end of the annex on the left). Mrs. Stanley has freshly printed Junior Beta service hour sheets for you to pick up when you drop off your donations! You will receive one service hour for your participation.

Attention middle schoolers: If you would like to attend First Priority morning meetings, they will begin this Thursday at 7:30 AM in Ms. Hale room (for girls) and the basketball locker room for boys. We hope to see you there (and don't forget your parent permission slip!).

FCA will have its first meeting of the year this Wednesday during club time in the auditorium! Students must turn in the club permission form to participate. See Coach Lanier in the cafeteria during lunch today to get a form or to turn one in. FCA is for both middle school and high school. Come check it out!

Jr. Beta Members attending convention, don't forget your participation form is due to Ms. Sloan this Friday, September 4th. You must turn this in to attend convention.

HOLA! National Spanish Honor Society will meet THIS WEDNESDAY for their first club rotation! Please make sure you bring your signed permission form, dues, and have your application submitted online!
