News from 09/11/21- “A” rotation

We discussed setting up a President and Vice President which will get hashed out on our Teams page. Additionally, Mr. Freeman gave the optional assignment of taking a famous work of art and manipulating it to create a new image. For example: Imagine what Michelangelo's David is looking at and adding it into a new work of art. What is figure in "The Scream" looking at and why is it screaming?

News from 09/20/21 and 9/22/21- After school

The high school art club had a Halloween prep party where we worked on making props and costumes. No prior knowledge was needed to attend, just a love for creation! We played a movie and snacked on some treats as we helped each other build our costume gear!

News from 11/01/21- “A” rotation

We discussed availabilities for future meetings as well as discussed the photoshop results from the prior meeting. Additionally gave out information for an extra opportunity to help paint props for a school play

News from 11/15/21- Optional project

The art club met for an optional project during “CT” time to help create props for the upcoming middle school play

News from 12/15/21- After school

We had an Ultimate Smash Bros tournament where we faced off against each other to determine a victor. We also had a Dirty Santa art swap: Bring a work that you created/ involves art (this can be anything from polymer clay to drawings to supplies) and swap in secrecy with your fellow club members!

News from 01/10/22- “A” rotation

The art club had a TEAM meeting where we discussed future meetings and activities, deriving a plan going forward, and to work on an art prompt for the month: take a while to think about what Valentine’s Day and St. Valentine mean to you. Visualize what that looks like and create a collage or a drawing to show your representation and perception of the holiday. This can be digital or paper and can include your own art as well as mixed mediums. Post this in TEAMS chat once you are done with it so we can discuss!

News from 02/11/22- After school

During this meeting, we had an Elementary school styled Valentines exchange consisting of working on and decorating boxes for our exchange. The best, most creative box (as voted on by the participants) receive a $5 dollar Starbucks gift card. The twist was, instead of exchanging candy, we will be exchanging little handmade knickknacks!

            News from 02/14/22- “A” rotation

During this meeting, we played a game called prompt shuffle where we were to pick a noun and an adjective to give everyone a new prompt. Additionally, we gave the opportunity to post any of these completed prompts on TEAMS

Check the calendar for upcoming events and subscribe to the Remind group as some dates and times may change.

You can still get copies of the calendar in Ms. Struk's room.

We are going to need some help getting our Decades Dance organized and to get tickets sold. You can sign up to help at the link below.
