Classwork:
1) Next, students discussed the following concepts (vis a vis Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence, Locke’s Social Contract, and the U.S. Constitution) that the U.S. Government is based upon: limited government, natural rights, popular sovereignty, republicanism, and social contract.
3. Students discussed and took notes on three theories of democracy (participatory, pluralism, elitism) as preparation for an FRQ.
4. If time permitted, students began their discussion/note-taking on the A.O.C. and the Federalists and Anti-Federalists.
Homework:
Read Pp 46-47, and 54-57 on Constitutional Compromises and Federalists and Anti-Federalists.
Classwork:
Students discussed the institutions of government in Great Britain. Also, they created a graphic organizer on G.B.s political parties discussing parliamentary sovereignty and devolution (in light of Brexit as well!) as well as the electoral system of Great Britain.
Homework:
GBRG3 is due Monday, 1-14-19.
