High School

 

High School Counselors provide programs and services to help the student achieve success in school. During these adolescent years, students are evaluating their strengths, skills, and abilities. The following services are provided to our students through Advisory group sessions, high school courses and individual counseling meetings:

• Organizational, study and test-taking skills
• Post-secondary planning and application process
• Career planning and goal setting
• Education in understanding self and others
• Coping strategies
• Peer relationships and effective social skills
• Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution
  and study skills
• Career awareness and the world of work
• Academic plans
• Career plans
• Problem solving
• Education in understanding of self, including strengths and weaknesses

MTSU Young Women in STEM Oct 27

Governor's School for Arts   MTSU provides instruction in the areas of music, art, theatre, dance or film making.  You must have a typed resume detailing your work in the arts.  Complete the written application, secure the teacher recommendation and it is due to your counselor by October 23th at 3:00.  You must also go online to complete a written audition data form.  

Academic Governor's School These applications require essays, a resume, a personal data form, Parent permission form, 2 teacher recommendations, test data (counselor will complete) and counselor recommendation.  Teachers and counselors will need a copy of your resume for your recommendation.  The completed applications and required documents are due to your counselor November 12th at 3:00.
