High School


High School Counselors provide programs and services to help the student achieve success in school. During these adolescent years, students are evaluating their strengths, skills, and abilities. The following services are provided to our students through Advisory group sessions, high school courses and individual counseling meetings:

• Organizational, study and test-taking skills
• Post-secondary planning and application process
• Career planning and goal setting
• Education in understanding self and others
• Coping strategies
• Peer relationships and effective social skills
• Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution
  and study skills
• Career awareness and the world of work
• Academic plans
• Career plans
• Problem solving
• Education in understanding of self, including strengths and weaknesses

Rutherford County Suicide Awareness and Prevention Night Feb 6th at 6:00, Blackman High School.

Rutherford County College Fair April 13, 5:00-8:00 at Lane Agri-Park.

AP Registration for Spring classes: Registration and payment are due to the Attendance office from Jan 17 until Feb 28 at 3:00.  The cost of each test is $97.  We are accepting in person checks or cash in the attendance office or parents can pay online with a credit card for an additional fee.  The online payment is $101 and the link to pay is https://rcschools.schoolcashonline.com/Fee/Details/7918/289/False/True
