Classwork:
Students differentiated (as part of an argumentative essay) between the following theories of democracy: participatory, pluralist, and Elitism. Also, students discussed/took notes on the contrasts between Federalists and Anti-Federalists in regards to the role of a central government (and the balance between public safety and civil liberties). If time permitted, students began reading/analyzing/explicating and explaining the salient points of Madison's Federalist 10 (in contrast to the Anti-Federalist paper "Brutus 1".
