Attention! Parents and A.P. U.S. Government Students:

Faboo News! First, A.P. sent out a communication saying that the A.P. test for A.P. United States Government and Politics (as well as A.P. Comparative Government and Politics) will only cover Units 1,2, and 3 (same for A.P. Comparative). That ameliorates A LOT of Stress. So, what does this mean? Well, it means that all the work we've done thus far from Day 1 through the Civil Liberties Unit is the material in Unit 1 and Unit 2. The only material left to cover in detail will be the three branches of government and the bureaucracy, with a dose of modern federalism and a few SCOTUS cases (Unit 3). Of course, we've done some of the Unit 3 material when we read the Constitution. I have some documents prepared already for each branch as well has some supplemental materials, which will give you all that you need to be successful on The Test in May!

ALSO, I just got off a "Zoom" video conference with Ms. Mandy Johnson and some of the other teachers. Ms. Johnson instructed us on how to create lessons and save them as MP4s so y'all can view/listen as I post each "unit" (i.e. the three branches and the bureaucracy) Because of this new info from AP, I will not post the lesson I promised you at noon today (Friday, 3-20-2020), rather I'll record lessons on the material we need to learn as MP4s, in which I will alternate between certain documents and my visage ('Tis true, you may not wish it so perhaps. But either way, you'll learn, snap, snap...thank you Bard). You can email me with any questions after viewing the video file.

I will load the first lesson tomorrow (Saturday, 3-21-2020) at around noon, and each day afterwards until all lessons have been posted. I believe we can accomplish this by the middle to end of next week!!!!!
Know that the mp4 lessons are not required nor will there be any assessments for a grade, BUT said lessons would be faboo as prep for the AP Test!

So now, allay your fears, my learned friends
And on the morrow, we shall meet again.
Anon, more and more learned shall we be
Just like the learned owl in yonder tree.
Again, my friends, fret not, we shall prevail
Daring and do will nix present travails.

Exeunt stage left singing:
"There is unrest in the forest.
There is trouble with the trees.
For the maples want more sunlight,
And the oaks ignore their pleas...hey, Neil, wait up!

Finally, I will put daily announcements on my homepage and daily calendar and then will upload the activities/resources to my A.P. U.S. Government page.

Yoohoo!

Thank you,
Mr. Brooks
