AP Comparative Government
Class Work:
Students continued their discussion on Comparative Government nomenclature, including, but not limited to legitimacy, transparency, power/authority (and how power/authority change either peacefully or violently). They also discussed the concept of sovereignty and how regimes maintain it, democratization (illiberal democracies, hybrid regimes, one-party states, theocracy, as well as totalitarian and military regimes). Finally, they discussed the concepts of free and fair elections, civil society, political socialization/political participation, and liberal democracy.
Homework:
Review today's discussion notes. ALSO, read the following pages in your textbook by Friday: p 31-39
and 46-50.
