AP U.S. Government and AP Comparative Government

Classwork:

Students continued  reading analyzing/explaining and taking notes on the U.S. Constitution (the copy we're using is a MS WORD doc on my AP GOV page.

If time permitted, they began reading, analyzing, and discussing Federalist 10 (on checks and balances) by James Madison. This is one of four Federalist papers for the course and is one of the 9 Foundational Documents we will study. The MS WORD doc below has Federalist 10, Federalist 51, and Brutus 1. Download and print a copy so you can highlight and make notes on it in class. This will serve as a review tool for the Constitution test as well as the AP Government test in  May of 2022.

Homework:

Review notes on the D.O.I. and the forms of democracy, as well as your Constitution notes.

AP Comparative Government:

Class Work:

Students continued discussing Great Britain and taking notes (institutions of government, economy, various significant Prime Ministers, etc.). In the discussion, students also utilized AP Comparative Government nomenclature (i.e. power, authority, legitimacy, transparency, etc.) to apply to various aspects of Great Britain's political system.

If time permitted, students began working on practice FRQs on Great Britain. I will post these FRQs once we begin work on them depending on whether or not we finish the Great Britain discussion.

Homework:

Review your Great Britain, Tony Blair, and Maggie Thatcher notes.
