Classwork:
Students took a quiz over reapportionment, redistricting, and gerrymandering (aligned with information in the class discussion guide on this material. Next, they discussed their homework (a case breakdown of NYT v. U.S.). Finally, they continued discussing the legislative branch, including but not limited to the following: Primary and General Elections; Congressional Committees; Citizen's United v FEC, and PACs/Super PACs

Homework:

 1) Complete a SCOTUS case breakdown for Shaw v Reno (1993))  in which you do the following (DUE AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR NEXT CLASS).

a) Explain the facts of the case (DETAILED).
b) Identify the constitutional clause in the case.
c) EXPLAIN the decision in the case, including an explanation of how the constitutional clause was used in the decision.


2) STUDY for next week's Congress Test.

Homework:  STUDY your Great Britain notes AND be prepared to do an FRQ on economic liberalization. Read Pp 126-129 in your textbook to prep for the FRQ.
