Students discussed selective incorporation, Gideon v Wainwright (as well as completing an FRQ on the case and then viewing samples of items in the responses that would've gotten points-or not-on the AP Exam). Next, they discussed the 1st through 5th amendments. Afterwards, they discussed Civil Rights legislation, federalism, Federalist Papers 10,51,70,78, and Anti-Federalist Paper entitled "Brutus 1". Finally, they discussed MLK's "Letter from a Birmingham Jail. The packet over this material is posted on Brooks' A.P> U.S. Gov page. It is entitled "Federalism".

Homework: 

Read the final class discussion document for the semester (Federalism Spring 2023). Identify items for which you need clarification, so we can discuss those in class.
