*Congratulations to both Treble and Varsity Choir on successful performances at the Choral Adjudication Festival. Both ensembles received a performance rating of “Excellent,” the second highest rating a group can receive. This is the first time both groups have achieved that level. We are very proud of you all!

**Auditions for Madrigals are two weeks from Thursday and Friday. Please be sure to sign up outside Mr. Brenner’s room and grab a packet if you have not done so already.

*This is your last week to order your 2019 yearbook!  The yearbook staff is excited to share with you the great memories they have captured this year. Before March 1st, you can purchase them online at Mrs. Head's website, or if you prefer, you can send with your student a check made out to CMS for $90. Thank you for your support!  https://www.buytheyearbook.com/centralmagnet.aspx

**2019 CMS College Fair

The Central Magnet College Fair will be held Monday, March 4th.  Each year we provide a Hospitality room for the College Reps before the fair begins.  A couple of volunteers are needed to serve as set-up/clean-up room hosts.  The hospitality room will close at 6:00 (the event ends at 7:00). After the previous CMS College fairs, the reps who attended shared that we had the best food around....so we have a reputation to uphold!

*"Seniors, the deadline to register for the Seal of Biliteracy exam has been extended until tomorrow, Wednesday, February 27th. Registration is $10 for Latin and $20 for all other languages. Students going on the DECA field trip will test on March 5th and all other students will test on March 7th. This is your last chance to register, so don't miss it!"

*ATTENTION CURRENT FRESHMEN (RISING SOPHOMORES):

In addition, these students all performed and represented Central well: Isabelle Jones, Samantha Upchurch, Matthew Givens, River Plummer, Will Starling and Justice Hobbs. Congratulations to all!

*The Central Magnet men's basketball team scored the upset win last night as they defeated the Fairview Yellow Jackets 58-44.

The Tigers were led by Steph Laird with 28 points and 10 rebounds and Will Carver with 15 points and 7 assists. Patrick Norman chipped in a balanced game of 6 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Tigers will play Wednesday night at 7:30 in the region semi-finals vs Marshall County.

*CMS Chess Team was well represented at the Ron Seaney Memorial Chess Tournament held last Saturday at Percy Priest Elementary School in Nashville.

CMS Team won 1st place in the 7-12th grade section.  Individually, Micah Warren, Joshua Stueckle, Chandler McCook, and Wyatt Kelton won top 20 medals.  Fellow 7th graders Matthew Smith and Johnathan Warren also contributed to the team's success.

In the 5-6 grade section, CMS Team was 7th with only three players.  Nathan Parr, Rob Nicholls and Cannon Murphree each played well and scored a few wins.

And another round of applause for Joshua Stueckle. At State Championship Finals in Cookeville on Saturday, February 16, he tied for 6th place in High School.
