*Last day to register for the AP tests are next Friday March 15.  Please register in Attendance now.

 

*High School Students: Please make time to come by the library and renew all of your books by this Wednesday afternoon. We can renew your books so they will be due in May.

 

*Congratulations to Central Magnet's 2019 GeoBee champion Isaac Smith! Isaac has qualified for the state level of the National Geographic GeoBee which will be held in Nashville on March 29. Good luck Isaac!

 

*Congratulations to the following Latin and Etymology students who placed on the National Classical Etymology Exam.

 

Bronze medals were awarded to Sydney Staines, Aliyah Weaver, Makayla Lattin, Batu Arik, Christine Ojeaburu, Piper Danielson, Treyton Bratton, Grace Moore, Delaney Reynolds, Alden Degenarro, Matthew Feragola, Grant Gilley, Sydney Cuneo, and Meredith Riley.

 

Silver medals were awarded to Tolu Onafowakan, Edith Pelham, Alaina Denton, Rebecca Raynor, and Jonathan Womble.

 

Gold medals were awarded to Anna Elam, Jonathan Wich, Kate Olvera, Nicole Speyrer, and Michael Sowell.

 

*The National Spanish Honor Society is raising money for the local Hispanic Center this THURSDAY with a BAKE SALE! All items will be $1! Cookies, muffins, drinks, ALL homemade! Bring your money and your appetite! On Sale before school at 7:15 in College Corner.

 

*Any Junior who is interested in attending Boys State or Girls State this summer will need to see Mrs. Gerhart in Guidance for more information. Students must have a 3.75 or higher to be eligible.

 

*Spring Pictures will be taken this Thursday, March 7th during the early dismissal day.

 

*The softball teams will be hosting a bowling scramble at Lanes, Trains, & Automobiles next Sat the 9th from 9:30-11:30. Find a softball player and join a team. Prizes given!

 

*The Wellness and PE teachers, as well as the guidance department, would like to send a big shout out of thanks to the middle schoolers that helped breakdown the tables in the gym. You guys are a great example of citizenship!

 

*The boys high school soccer team plays a preseason match this evening at Lebanon HS. JV plays at 4:30 and varsity will follow at 6 PM.

 

*The Middle School Boys Soccer team lost a real tough match to Avery Trace Middle School by a score of 2 to 1.  Will Kassebaum scored the goal on a penalty kick while Isiah Richard had 8 saves.  The next game will be this Thursday against Thurman Francis at Smyrna Middle School.  Game time is 4:30.

 

*The Central Magnet Men's basketball season came to an end last night as the Tigers were defeated by the Pearl Cohn Firebirds in the Sectional Finals.

The Tigers were led by Will Carver with 21 points and Gage Swanson who chipped in 5 points and Steph Laird who added 4 points.

The Tigers would like to thank all the fans and supporters who cheered them on throughout the regular season and post season play.

This senior class is responsible for winning 72 games in four years, 3 region tournament berths, 1 regional championsip runner-up and 1 sectional berth. The entire Men's program is thankful for the hard work of these seniors.
