*Good luck to the Madrigal singers today who will be performing at the state Choral festival today at Lipscomb University.  Congratulations on this great musical achievement.  We’re rooting for you!

 

*If you are in Ms. Way-Kiani's General Music class, please remember to turn in your field trip forms TODAY.

 

*"The Foreign Language Faculty would like to congratulate all 49 students who will receive the Seal of Biliteracy this year. There are less than 400 students receiving this award in Tennessee and we are proud to say that 49 of the recipients are from Central Magnet.

 The Volunteer State Seal of Biliteracy organization will hold a state-wide celebration this Summer, in Nashville, to honor all recipients. Students should expect to receive invitations in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, they are seeking for a couple of students to give a speech during the event. If you are interested in giving a 5-minute speech and would like more information, please, see Mrs. DaSilva in room #125 during 5thperiod by this Friday, May 26th. "

 

*All Middle School Youth in Government members need to see Mr. Ruess today after school.  If you cannot stay after school, see him before you go home.

 

*On Monday April 29th we will be conducting mandatory Pre-administration sessions for the AP exams.  It will be an even block day without bells due to the state testing.  Students taking an AP exam must report to the cafeteria with a pencil at the following times:

 

8:00 Freshmen (after they report for attendance)

9:00 Sophomores

9:50 Juniors

10:45 Seniors

 

*Attention students in Mr. Tang's Chinese level 1, 2nd period, and Ms. Way-Kiani's General Music class: Please stop by the front office to pick up a field trip permission form to visit the Center for Chinese Music and Culture. This is a very special opportunity, so please make sure you pick up the permission to take home and read over with your parents.

 

*If you are a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, there is an opportunity for you to earn points as an usher at the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra concert this Thursday, April 25th. You must arrive at First United Methodist Church by 6:15pm, and remember, you are invited to stay and watch the concert for free as a volunteer! The concert is titled "Night at the Movies- The Sequel." See Ms. Way-Kiani if you have any questions.

 

*The high school softball lost a tough back and forth game, 9-7 against Nolensville last night.  Abby Frazier was 3 for 3 with 4 RBI’s, Kali Penny was 2 for4, and Caitlin Dodson was 2 for 4. The Lady Tigers will travel to Upperman Friday night to face Upperman and Cumberland Co.

 

*The Central Magnet Tigers defeated Riverdale 3-0 last night.  Goals came from Sam Orput, Sam Apigian, and Jorge Graniel.  Russell Harper had a big game with 11 saves in goal.  The Tigers travel to Giles Co. Thursday to wrap up district play.

 

*The Middle School Boys soccer team defeated Whitworth Buchannan 10 to 1.  Clay Thompson and Schishio Abram each scored 3 goals, Will Kassebaum scored 2 and Jake Petty and Kellen Feltz each scored one.  Assists were made by Will Kassebaum with 3, Clay Thompson, Kellen Feltz, Donald Thirakul, Cohen Meredith and Logan Stojakovish each had 1 assist.  Isaiah Richard had two saves and Jonathan Warner had 1 save.  The next game is Thursday here against Oakland.  Game time will be 5:30. 

 

*Baseball JV defeated Nolensville 5-3.  Elijah Borel threw a complete game for the win.  Joseph Bonanno had two hits.

 

Central Magnet Varsity lost 4-1.  Brady Sengkounmany allowed four hits and one earned run for a complete game.

 

*The lady Tigers middle school softball team defeated Whitworth Buchanan last night 14-2 in 4 innings. Lillie Meinhart had ten strikeouts. Gabi Lyons, Emmaline Whitt, and Reese Carlisle all had doubles and Hannah Gardner hit a triple with the bases loaded. The lady tigers take on Oakland at home for 8th grade night tomorrow.
