*Congratulations to the Madrigals for their spectacular performance at the American Choral Directors State Festival yesterday. Their performance earned them the second highest score category of “Excellent”. We are all very proud of your achievement. You can hear their performance of this music again this coming Tuesday night 4/30 at 7:00 in the auditorium with Show Choir.

 

*National Spanish Exam results are in and posted! Congratulations to all the students who placed, including 10 who won Gold with 95th percentile or higher, 18 with Silver, 85th percentile or higher, and 24 Bronze winners, with 75th percentile or higher. There were also an additional 45 honorable mentions! Congratulations!

 

*The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be hosting their annual Great Strides walk at Central this Saturday, April 26th and are looking to volunteers to help with the event from 7 to 11:30am. See Ms. Way-Kiani if you have any questions about volunteering for this event.

 

*On Monday April 29th we will be conducting mandatory Pre-administration sessions for the AP exams.  It will be an even block day without bells due to the state testing.  Students taking an AP exam must report to the cafeteria with a pencil at the following times:

 

8:00 Freshmen (after they report for attendance)

9:00 Sophomores

9:50 Juniors

10:45 Seniors

 

*If you are a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, there is an opportunity for you to earn points as an usher at the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra concert this Thursday, April 25th. You must arrive at First United Methodist Church by 6:15pm, and remember, you are invited to stay and watch the concert for free as a volunteer! The concert is titled "Night at the Movies- The Sequel." See Ms. Way-Kiani if you have any questions.

 

*The middle school boys golf team lost by one stroke to Siegel Middle yesterday at Bloomfield. Out of 25 golfers from Siegel and Rock Springs, Eli Austin led the entire field with the low score of the day. The girls lost to Rock Springs and Siegel, but Caitlin Reeves continued her strong play during the second half of the season to post the low score for the girl’s team.

 

*The Middle School Boys soccer team will play their last regular season game here against Oakland.  Game time is 5:30. This is also 8th grade recognition night, the ceremony will be at 5:00.  Please come out and support the Tigers. 

 

*"The middle school Lady Tigers track team had a great showing at the County Championship last night. Noella Obi placed 4th in the 100m dash, setting a new team record with a time of 13.41.  The 4x100 team made up of Claudia Mitchell, Reily Gusman, Julia Ann Hamilton, and Noella Obi also set a school record with a time of 55.50.  In distance events, Taylor Walker led the team in the 800m race with a new personal record of 2:55.48 while Mikayla Morrell and Emmaline Whitt both shattered their personal best times, placing 3rd and 5th overall in the 1600m. The men's squad will compete in the County Championship later this week."
