*Seniors:  May 1st is College signing day, make sure you have accepted all scholarships admission offers from your school.

 

*Any graduating senior who ever attended Discovery School is invited to breakfast with your former teachers and for a congratulatory parade through the hallways. Wear your T-shirt’s from your chosen colleges.

 

Arrive at Discovery promptly at 7:30 am. Will be finished by 8:30 and back to Central by 8:45.

 

*From the Library:

 

The high school Project LIT book club will meet this Thursday, May 2nd during C and D lunches.

 

All high school books are due this Friday. You will have the opportunity to sign up to check out books over the summer beginning on Friday, May 17th.

 

All paperwork for the MTSU Library field trip on Monday, May 20th is due to the library by Friday, May 3rd. Paperwork will not be accepted late.

 

*Please come join the CMS Jazz Band as they kick off this year's JazzFest on the Square this Friday at 6pm. Come continue of Central having the largest and best student section of the night!! See you at 6pm on Friday!!

 

*The Central Dance Team will hold a dance clinic this Friday, May 3 from 3:15-5:30 in room 240. An informational question and answer meeting will follow Friday at 5:30. Dance Team tryouts are Tuesday, May 7. All current members and prospective members are required to wear black leggings, a CMS t-shirt, and jazz shoes or tennis shoes. See or email Ms. Cindy Davis if you have questions. The dance team website has been updated with clinic/tryout information and forms.

 

*Regular Season district play for soccer concluded last week and Central Tigers are the number one seed going into the postseason.  We will host Marshall Co. on Thursday at 6pm.

 

Jorge Graniel was recognized as the District MVP, while Russell Harper was won the District GK of the year. The Tigers also had the following recognized as 1st Team All-District: Sam Orput, Nathan Clark, Ethan Penny, and Walker Robison.  The Second Team All-District included Sam Apigian, and Josh Dean.

 

*The Middle School lady tiger’s softball team made it through the first round of county tournament play with a win over Smyrna 10-9. Payton Nicholson was 5 for 5 with 2 in the park homers and a triple. Reese Carlisle was 3 for 4 a triple and an amazing diving catch in center field. Hali Phillips stole third and home in extra innings to win the game for the Lady Tigers!

 

Monday’s win was the team's 5th which is a new middle school record.

 

*The Lady Tigers softball team finished 4th in district seeding and will host 5th seed Marshall Co tomorrow night at McKnight Park at 5:30.

 

*On Monday the middle school golf team played Siegel and Blackman at Old Fort. Eli Austin led the team with the low score of the day. Jacob Shanks played his best golf of the season to shoot two strokes behind Eli. Reagan Warren led the way for the girl’s team. On Tuesday they were back in action at Champions Run against PCA and Rockvale. Eli Austin again led the team with Collier Pawlowski close behind him. Ellis Young led the girls team. Their final regular season match before the district tournament is Thursday.

 

*Central Magnet Girls upset Blackman 4-2 to win the District again this year, for what we believe is the fifth consecutive year (at least).

 

Central Magnet Boys also won the District again this year, beating Seigel High 5-0.  This is the fourth straight year for the boys to win.

 

Coach Boynton took an ice bath after the final girls match sealed the win!
