Monday's sixth-grade lunch book talk is Where the Red Fern Grows. Come to Ms. Davis's room during A lunch time to eat together and discuss the novel.
The Central Magnet Chess program will host a follow up parent meeting on Monday, August 19th in room 132 from 4:15-5:15. Interested students and parents are encouraged to attend this opportunity to learn about the program and what it can offer to students.
DECA applications for HS students are available in Room 210 or on the CMS DECA webpage. All forms must be returned along with your membership dues.
CMS HOSA will sponsor our 1st drive of the school year on Thursday, 8-29 from 7:30 to 1:00 in the gym. You may donate if you are 16 (with parent consent) and 17 & up. There is a link to the sign up on the CMS homepage & HOSA webpage! Each donation saves 3 lives & you help increase our Senior HOSA Scholarship money with each donation! Red, White & Blue theme!!
All class change requests require a form, which is located outside of Guidance. Any changes to add a new class must be submitted by Aug. 21. Any changes to drop levels or for a study hall must be submitted by Sept. 4. See your counselor for questions.
We will kick off College Corner this Tuesday, Aug. 20 with visits from Harding University and the Army National Guard with our very own Jordan Wilcox! Stop by and see them anytime between 12:30-1:30.
There will be a swim team informational meeting today at 3:15 in Room 238. Email or talk to Coach Heller if you are unable to attend.
The Middle Schools girls Varsity soccer team opened the regular season with a 3 to 0 win over Oakland. Claudia Mitchell, Mikayla Nolan and Maddie Degnan each scored a goal; Reily Gusman had an assist and MiKayla Harris had one save. The JV team lost 4 to 0. Sophia Stringfield had two saves while Alyssa Lanier had 5 saves. The next game is today here at home against Rock Springs the Varsity game time is 4:30 with the JV game immediately after. Come out and support the Lady Tigers.
Any current high school softball players who were not at the meeting on Thursday night need to come see Coach Stearns in the gym. 

Anyone who did not make it to spring tryouts but is interested in playing high school softball should come see Coach Stearns at their earliest convenience.
