Hey high schoolers! We are starting a new club, Central Magnet Students Demand Action/March For Our Lives, in order to combat the American gun violence epidemic. Our interest meeting is this Wednesday right after school in Ms. Way-Kiani’s room, and any high schooler is welcome to attend. If you want more info or can’t come to the Wednesday meeting, you can find me, Sophia Kennan, Raley Underwood, or Jadyn Scott! Thank you!
Attention Upper Level Spanish Students! The National Spanish Honor Society will be having its first meeting on Sept. 4th during club time! Applications are available in Ms. Kime's room. You will need to turn in the completed application form (which requires signatures!) as well as dues the day of the first meeting. Officers will be voted on then! Ms. Pinson & Ms. Kime look forward to another great year.
If you are interested in joining the robotics team this year, you need to see Mr. Guthrie in room 349 for an application. This year Central will have 3 different teams and students in middle school and high school are invited to join. There will be a parent meeting on September 3 to get more information about the programs offered.
If you are interested in becoming a member at large on the Middle School Student Council please see Mrs. Miller by this Friday.

High School Science Olympiad is a team through which students participate in competitions covering various fields of science, like chemistry, forensics, biology, epidemiology, etc.- both testing and building at the regional Science Olympiad competition at MTSU in February.
If this sounds like something you are interested in or if you are a returning member of high school Science Olympiad, there is an interest meeting that will be held on September 3rd after school in Mr. Burn's' room, room 132. We will cover rules, dues, and events at this meeting. If anyone cannot attend this interest meeting, please contact me or Mr. Burns and we will fill you in on important information.
PSAT Registration begins Monday, August 26 and will end on September 13. This is a firm deadline. Grades 9-11 can take the PSAT. Cost is $17. Registration is in attendance.
A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Know your evacuation routes at school and at home. Don't forget to identify a secondary evacuation route in case your primary route is not available.
The deadline to change to a different class has passed. You may change levels in a class or drop a class for a study hall until Sept. 4. Please pick up a form outside of Guidance if you need to make a change.
The Lady Tigers golf team picked up wins over Riverdale and Smyrna yesterday at Old Fort. Ellie Stephens led the team with a 44. The boys beat Riverdale but lost to Smyrna by one stroke. Dawson Massengale led all golfers with a 39. The Tigers take on Rockvale next week.
Congratulations to the Middle School Tennis team, who swept their first match against Christiana Middle. They play MTCS at MTCS on Thursday at 4pm.
Last night the High school girl's soccer team traveled to Warren Co. and left with a 2-2 tie. Ella Chesney and Alli Miekle scored the goals and Avery Pogue had an assist and 7 saves in goal. The girls continue district play Thursday at home against Spring Hill.
The Middle School Girls Varsity soccer team plays this afternoon here against Smyrna. Game time is 4:30. Come out and support the Tigers.
