A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Emergency supply kits can help you be prepared. Items to keep in your emergency kit include a flashlight, batteries, first aid kit, whistle, phone lists, paper, pencil, water, and non-perishable snacks.
During the book fair next week, the library is honored to host local author, Andrew Maraniss, after school in the library at 3:15 P.M. Mr. Maraniss will be sharing about his upcoming book, Games of Deception: The True Story of the First U.S. Olympic Basketball Team at the 1936 Olympics in Hitler's Germany. The Boy Scouts of America would like to meet with any boys and girls(Grades 6-12) on Thursday during club time concerning two units that are meeting here in Murfreesboro. If you are interested, go to college corner during club time.
The Cake Decorating Club WILL NOT MEET today after school. Another after-school session will be scheduled at the next meeting during B rotation.
Reminder: If you are going to take an AP test you must pay for the test before Oct 31. Please bring registration form and payment to the attendance office.
Girl's Soccer- District Championship this evening at 6:30 against Page HS. The match will take place at Richard Siegel Park on field 1. All district recognition will take place after the match. The cost is $5 to attend.
Central sophomore golfer Rachel Chan competed in her second straight TSSAA State Championship on Tuesday and Wednesday, where she shot a 94 on her first round, then came back to shoot an 80 on her second. This ends another successful season for Central Magnet Golf, which included a second place finish for our girls in the district, where Elise Jones and Ellie Stephens earned medals, and a 3rd place finish in the region, where Rachel Chan finished third overall and advanced to the state championship. Dawson Massengale and HL McCullough also advanced to the regional tournament. Congrats to the Central Magnet Golf Team on a great season!
Tomorrow is the last day to register for the Seal of Biliteracy exam. The exam costs $20 and registration forms can be found in Mrs. DaSilva's website. If you have any questions, talk to your language teacher or go see Mrs. DaSilva in room 134, during C or D lunch.
Attention all Senior Betas going to convention. There will be a mandatory meeting immediately after school in the auditorium Monday, October 21st.
