Mr. Maraniss will be sharing about his upcoming book, Games of Deception: The True Story of the First U.S. Olympic Basketball Team at the 1936 Olympics in Hitler's Germany. Tryouts for the HS Tennis Teams are Tuesday Oct. 22, and Wed. Oct. 23 from 4:30 - 6:30pm at the Adams Tennis Complex on the outdoor courts. Students who did not play last year, will try out on Tuesday, returning team members will tryout Wednesday. Bring a racket, water, and appropriate court shoes. All Students trying out must have a current physical prior to tryout dates. If you have any questions, or would like more information, please see Miss Andersen in room 344. |
The Middle School Cross-Country teams ran yesterday at Rockvale. The Central Magnet teams are COUNTY CHAMPIONS in every category they ran - JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys. Tops finishers were Vinny Peck, Carson Wood, Emmaline Whitt, and Lila Beth Strickland. Also, Henry Nance was overall Junior Varsity individual winner, taking 1st place. Over Fall Break, the teams competed at the state meet and placed third for Single A Boys and fourth for Singe A girls. This concludes a great season for all middle school runners! |
Please Congratulate the HS girl's soccer team on winning the district Championship last night 1-0. The winning goal came from Ashleigh Clark off of a pass from Ella Chesney. Avery Pogue had 5 saves in goal. The team moves on to play in the region semifinal next Tuesday. |
