The librarians are attending a training this week from 12:00 Wednesday through the end of the day Friday. The library will be open this Monday (all day), Tuesday (all day), and Wednesday until 11:30. Please make plans to check out, renew materials, and print for the week by 11:30 this Wednesday.
The Preliminary Round of the 2020 National Geographic GeoBee will be held this Thursday during 6th period in Coach Burns' classroom, room 202. It is important to be there on time so the bee can finish by 3:00. The list of qualifiers is on Coach Burns' National Geographic Bee website.
The 4th Annual Poetry Out Loud Competition is coming soon. It will be on Wednesday, January 29th at 10:15 am in room 221. Students will recite 2 poems before an audience and 3 judges. All high school students interested should email Ms. Cynthia Head to register. More competition information is located at poetryoutloud.org.
A big congratulations goes to Mr. Guthrie's 6th grade engineering class. The students in the class participated in the Sustainable Technology Solutions contest held at the Rutherford Chamber of Commerce last night. The class entered 3 teams into the contest and they finished in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Congratulations again on a job well done!
Elf Jr. the first-ever Middle School Musical at CMS will be performing Dec. 5th, 6th, and 7th at 7:00pm in the auditorium. So, if you want to see Buddy the Elf, sassy Jovie, a Mall Fight with Fake Santa, singing elves, and snow on stage, come on out and support these kids. It will definitely get you in the holiday spirit!
Auditions for the high school musical, 9 to 5, will be Dec. 11th and 12th! Those interested in auditioning please see Miss Andersen for an audition packet.
All Junior Beta members need to check their school email and respond to the invitation for caroling. We will be caroling around the square on Wednesday December 18th from 3:30-5pm. Parents are welcome to join.
The Cake Decorating Club WILL NOT MEET after school on Monday, Dec. 9.
Student Art League members may come and pick up their t-shirts from Ms. Struk during 5th period or after school today.
Also, a reminder to the Student Art League, the holiday party will be on Thursday, December 19th from 5 to 8pm. We'll discuss more details during "A" club rotation this week.
Help support the Stepping Stones homeless shelter for women and children by donating spare change! Find a gold “Change for Change” container around the school and help make a difference in your community!
Faith40 is having a Christmas Party for the Refugee children in our community. These children have been through horrendous situations and are still struggling here. This party is a bright time in their lives. We cannot buy the children gifts without your help. We need donations. You can receive a point for Beta or Mu Alpha Theta for a $20 gift card or cash. Any amount of money will help. Please bring the money to Mrs. Pigg or Mrs. Roland by December 6th. Thank you.
Coat Drive continues all week. Make sure you drop off your coats at the middle and high school drop off areas. There will also be a box in the main office. This event will conclude Friday night at the chili supper. As of Tuesday, Freshmen have donated the most coats.
Congratulations to the following high school girls on being recognized to the All-Area Soccer Team. Ella Chesney made the 1st team and Ashleigh Clark and Abby Reymann made the 2nd team All Area!
Lady Tigers defeated Hillwood on the road 48-36. Addison Melton and Olivia Hart share game high honors with 18 points each.
The Mens basketball team dropped to 3-2 on the season last night with a 50-38 loss to the Hillwood Hilltoppers.
The Tiger were led in scoring by Jayden Hernandez and Alec Ingraham with 7 points each.

The Tigers will be back in action on Friday night as they host the Eagleville Eagles.
