The 4th Annual Poetry Out Loud Competition is coming soon. It will be on Wednesday, January 29th at 10:15 am in room 221. Students will recite 2 poems before an audience and 3 judges. All high school students interested should email Ms. Cynthia Head to register. More competition information is located at poetryoutloud.org.
High School Students: Mid Term permission forms were sent home in 2nd period on Thursday, Dec 5th. These forms are due Wednesday, Dec. 11th. These forms are required if you want to leave after taking midterms. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING PHONE CALLS, TEXTS, OR EMAILS THE WEEK OF MIDTERMS.

It was a very competitive bee with only 5 perfect scores and 13 students battling to make the cut in tiebreaker rounds. The final round will be held on January 8, during 1st Period.
Auditions for the high school musical, 9 to 5, will be Dec. 11th and 12th! Those interested in auditioning please see Miss Andersen for an audition packet.
All Junior Beta members need to check their school email and respond to the invitation for caroling. We will be caroling around the square on Wednesday, December 18th from 3:30-5pm. Parents are welcome to join.
Help support the Stepping Stones homeless shelter for women and children by donating spare change! Find a gold “Change for Change” container around the school and help make a difference in your community!
Faith40 is having a Christmas Party for the Refugee children in our community. These children have been through horrendous situations and are still struggling here. This party is a bright time in their lives. We cannot buy the children gifts without your help. We need donations. You can receive a point for Beta or Mu Alpha Theta for a $20 gift card or cash. Any amount of money will help. Please bring the money to Mrs. Pigg or Mrs. Roland by December 6th. Thank you.
Caleb Dochow's family is asking for help with a fundraiser to help bring their adoptive son home from China & are collecting pairs of shoes. You can donate any shoe type, gently used or new. Collection boxes are by Mrs. Gates door in the annex, front entrance lobby & college corner (they are wrapped in purple paper!) We need these by 12-13-19
HOSA Service opportunities: 1. NHC & Alive Hospice Christmas shoebox project...fill a shoebox (or other container) with basic essentials like lotion, kleenex, mints, gum, candies, hairbrush, gloves, etc. due 12-13 to Mrs. Gates
2. Alive Hospice patient Christmas tree- Dollar tree Christmas tree decorated with ornaments, Christmas decorations, lights...due to Mrs. Gates 12-13.
The softball team would like to send out a huge Thank You to everyone who has donated so far. Today was the last morning we will have collection bins set up before school but we will be collecting coats tonight at the Chili Supper so it's definitely not too late! . Your donations will go to and help students inside our county.
Congratulations to the middle school boys basketball team with their exciting win over Christiana. The boys won with a score of 46 to 44. Mason Brown led all scorers with 20 points, Jake Maddox scored 10 and John Hays added 7.
The girls bowling team defeated Oakland yesterday moving to 11-3 on the year. Georgia Touchton bowled her career high 181. Liezel Laurel and Carrie Waugh won three points each while Bella Goodnight picked up two. Kenna King won her first career point by picking up a spare in the 10th frame to pull it out by 3 pins.
The boys dropped their match to Smyrna yesterday. Kaleb Charles led the boys with his career-high of a 201 winning two points. Both teams finish the regular season Tuesday before starting the district tournament next Thursday.
Coach Wagner needs to see Sarah Gwen Arnold, Uma Sood, Caden Sweetman, and Kailey Orr today! Stop by her room anytime other than A lunch.
The High School JV Boys Basketball team defeated Holloway High School last night 88-40. Kyle Messerly and Alec Ingraham were the leading scorers with 21 and 14 points, respectively, followed by McLane Martin and Elijah Conard with 10 each. The JV will play Eagleville today at 4:00, followed by the girls' and boys' varsity games.
The middle school girls’ basketball team had a great team victory last night over Christiana. Congratulations to the team on the win!
