Central Magnet Chess hosted the Middle Tennessee Scholastic Chess Championship on Saturday, December 7. CMS Teams won 1st place in both High School and Elementary divisions. High School Team was led by Parker Dawes, winning 4 games and taking home 2nd place trophy! Johnathan Warner won 7th place trophy and Rob Nicholls 9th. Jackson Faulk and Talan Lynch earned medals for finishing in top 20. Sophie Tan won 4th place trophy leading CMS Team in Elementary division. Winning top 20 medals were first time tournament players Amare Bellamy, Grayson Lin, Hunter Higgs, Harrison Hamby and Austin Schaffrath. In the Unrated Upper School division Isabelle Jones finished 1st! Jackob Abrahamson was 3rd. Also playing well in their first competition were Austin Webb and Mitchell McCook. Joshua Stueckle and Micah Warren represented well in the Open section. |
Congratulations to the middle school boys basketball team for their win in triple overtime. The boys beat lavergne 64 to 58. Mason brown lead all scorers with 36 points will Becker had 12 and Jake Maddox added 7. |
