Central Magnet will take a middle and a high school group to this year's SE-YA Book Festival on Friday, March 13. Sign ups begin today and end Friday at 3 PM. High school students should sign up in the library. Middle school students should sign up with your ELA Lab teacher. Ask a librarian or your English teacher if you have any questions.
Next week, Key Club members will be selling Kryspy Kreme vouchers to help offset the cost of attending District Convention. Vouchers are only $10, which is less than what you would pay in store, and are good for a box of 12 delicious doughnuts. Beginning on Monday, bring your money and help you classmates work their way to the 2020 Convention.
Middle School First Priority will now meet in Ms. Richards classroom, Room 241, beginning this D rotation this Thursday, Jan 16. A leadership team meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan 14, with Ms. Richards and Ms. Taylor in room 222 during A lunch. You can bring your lunch to Ms. Taylor's classroom for this meeting.
Don't forget Mu Alpha Theta offers tutoring on Wednesdays from 3-4pm. They can help with the math portion of the ACT or any problems you are having in math class.
The last day to add or drop a class will be Friday, Jan. 17. You must stop by Guidance to pick up a form to complete. See your counselor for questions.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14 College Corner will host a CMS graduate representing Mount Holyoke College. Please stop by to say hello and learn more! She will be available during C/D lunches.
Registration for AP Macro and AP Gov't semester 2 students is Jan 13-Feb 14.  Students currently enrolled in Mr. Brooks' or Mr Walker's classes can pay for the test in attendance. 
The High School Swim Team did great at the Doris Coady Rutherford County Championship swim meet yesterday at LaVergne High School. Girls placed second, boys placed third, and overall the team took second place. Congratulations to following swimmers for their accomplishments yesterday:
- Kailey Orr for placing 1st in the 400 free and 100 back, while also breaking the county meet record in the 400 free.
- Anna Weis who placed 1st in the 100 fly and 3rd in the 400 free, while also breaking the county meet record in the 100 fly.
- Elise Jones for placing 2nd in the 50 free and 1st in the 100 free.
- Parker Dawes for placing 3rd in the 50 free.
- Nick Gobich for placing 2nd in the 400 free.
- Both boys and girls 200 free relay placing second and the girls 400 free relay placing first.
