A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Smoke detectors should be located on every floor of your home and near all places that you and your family sleep. Smoke detector batteries should be changed on a regular basis.
Attention all Spanish Students: The last day to pay for the National Spanish Exam is WEDNESDAY! $5 is due to either Ms DaSilva or Ms Pinson by then. Gracias!
The CMS Aviation Club will be taking a field trip to a number of MTSU's facilities including the air traffic control simulator, airframe maintenance area , pilot training classrooms, drone lab, and more. This trip will take place on Feb 13 and costs $15 per club member. If you would like to attend, please see Graham Hall or Mr. Leach for a field trip form as soon as possible.
Juniors and Seniors with a 3.75 GPA or highers: Applications for National Honor Society are due this Friday, January 31. Please pick up and turn in your application in Room 105 with Mr. Windham.
FOR ANYONE PLANNING TO TRY OUT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCCER: Tryouts have been postponed until February the 10th and 11th. This is a new date. Updated information is on the website! Please notify you parents today.
Marshall County outscored Central Magnet 14-8 in the 4th quarter to break open a 3-point game & pull away for the 50-41 district win. The loss drops the Lady Tigers to 9-7/1-3 while Marshall County remains undefeated in the district at 4-0. Olivia Hart played an outstanding game, leading Central Magnet with 15, while Addison Melton added 11.
Congratulations to the MS Archery Team for placing 1st and the HS Archery Team for placing 3rd in the Winter Classic Tournament this past weekend. Individually, CMS had 5 archers medal in the bullseye tournament. In the MS Division, Maggie Moore was the 5th place Female and Jaden Po’e was the 1st place Male. In the HS Division, Isabella Hire and Sydney Lashbrook were the 4th and 5th place Females and Nathan Blunkall was the 5th place Male.
Sixteen swimmers from the high school swim team had a great meet at the Middle Tennessee Regional Championship on Friday! Lots of best swims and medals awarded! Congratulations to the following swimmers for their performance:
- Kailey Orr for placing 3rd in the Region in the 50 Free and 2nd in the 100 Free.
-Anna Weis for placing 11th in the 100 Fly.
- Nick Gobich for placing 15th in the 200 Free.
- Caden Sweetman for placing 8th in the 100 Back and 16th in the 200 IM.
- Parker Dawes for placing 14th in the 50 Free.
- Kailey Orr, Anna Weis, Elise Jones and Erin Chippeaux for placing 5th in the 200 Free Relay and breaking the school record.
- Kailey Orr, Anna Weis, Elise Jones and Taylor Walker for placing 9th in the 400 Free Relay.
- Nick Gobich, Parker Dawes, Caden Sweetman, and Roman Pate for placing 8th in the 200 Free Relay and 11th in the 400 Free Relay and breaking the school record for both relays!
The season will end in a couple weeks with hopefully more amazing swims at state in Knoxville! Go Tigers!
Seventeen swimmers from the middle school swim team had a great meet this past Saturday at the Middle Tennessee Middle School Regional Championship. Along with high school, a lot of great swims were had! Congratulations to the following swimmers for their performance:
-Ben Bryant for placing 2nd in the Region in the 100 Free and 6th in the 100 Back.
- John Drugmand for placing 8th in the 100 Fly.
- Kim Bao for placing 12th in the 50 Free and 13th in the 100 Free.
- Jackie Dummermuth for placing 13th in the 100 Breaststroke.
- Kim Bao, Kaitlyn Elliott, Jackie Dummermuth, and Evie Riley for making it to finals in the 400 Free Relay!
The Central Magnet Tigers dropped a tough 61-51 loss to Marshall County on Friday.
The Tigers were led by Micah Harris with 22 points and Jayden Hernandez with 9 points.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday when they host the Community Vikings.
