Congratulations to the Middle School Choristers for receiving SUPERIOR ratings (the highest rating given) in both performance and sight-reading at the MTVA Choral Festival yesterday. Our Middle School Choristers, as well as our high school choirs who received Superior ratings last week at the Festival, sang beautifully and represented CMS very well!

Yearbooks are on sale online until Saturday, February 29th. The cost is $90. You can also bring a check made out to CMS if you would like to pay in-person. Bring your check to Mrs. Head during 5th period in room 221. The distribution day is scheduled for Friday, April 24th.
Reminder to the Student Art League that you have an after school meeting this Thursday from 3 to 4:30 to learn how do mini sculptures with polymer clay. Be sure to think of an idea of what you would like to sculpt ahead of time.

Current sophomores (rising juniors): The last day to choose your classes for next year is Wednesday, Feb. 26. If you have not already, please sign up for a time to meet with your counselor via her Sign Up Genius. Please be prepared with your choices ahead of time either from the course selection worksheet or from Skyward.
The American Legion Girls State is a citizenship program offered to Junior girls. It is one of the most highly regarded programs in the nation. Any Junior girl who is interested in attending Girls State this year, needs to see Mrs. Gerhart in Guidance. A resume and essay will need to be complete by March 12. The high school boy's soccer team took on Riverdale in preseason play and won 9-0 last night. Jorge Graniel had a hat trick and Clay Thompson added two goals. The rest of the goals were scored by Will Kassebaum, Eli Horton, Wills McAdams, and Walker Robison.
The Central Magnet Men's basketball team finished 3rd in the 12AA district basketball tournament last night with a 58-42 victory over the Forrest Rockets.
The Tigers had balanced scoring with Josh Lee with 11 points, Micah Harris with 10 points, Gage Swanson with 9 points and Jayden Hernandez with 8 points.
The Tigers will play in the first round of the Region 6 tournament on Saturday when they will take on the Hickman County Bulldogs with the game time at 7:00 pm.

Congratulations to Jenna Shepherd for winning the 6th grade level spelling bee yesterday. Jenna will go on to represent Central Magnet at the Rutherford County spelling bee in April. Sam Curtis was the runner up.
