This spring, the senior library aides would like to use our book fair platform to provide quality reading materials for the students at Central Magnet while giving back to our community at the same time. Please help us by voting for the local charity you'd most like to support at our book fair. Voting will end at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4th.
The results are in! The National Geographic Society named Grayson Davis, eighth grader at Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro, as one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the 2020 National Geographic GeoBee State Competition. The contest will be held at Tennessee State University on Friday, March 27, 2020.

State champions will receive a medal, $1,000 in cash, and other prizes, as well as a trip to Washington, D.C., to represent their state in the National Championship where they will compete for additional cash, awards and college scholarships.The second- and third-place State GeoBee winners will receive cash awards of $300 and $100, respectively.

Attention artists, designers, actors, engineers, singers, and other creative people.

The Student Art League is hosting a TASK party this Friday from 5 to 8:00 pm in the drama room. Any high school student is welcome to participate in this creative improvisation event.

Here's how a TASK party works.
Anyone who attends will come in and draw a random task out of a box and then improvise a way to complete the task given some basic supplies. You may team up or work alone. Once complete, you'll draw out another random task and the cycle continues.

Spring Picture Day is coming soon! On Thursday, March 12th during the Early Dismissal day, students will have the opportunity to their pictures with 3 background options. See the bulletin boards in the stairwells to see your choices.
Congratulations to Joshua Stueckle on once again qualifying for the State High School Chess Championship Finals. In the Regional Championship held this past Saturday, he tied for 2nd place (6th on tiebreaks). Good luck to Joshua on March 21 in Cookeville!
Mu Alpha Theta is offers Math Tutoring in RM 116 on Wednesdays from 3-4 this afternoon.
Any Junior who is interested in attending TN Girls or Boys State needs to see Mrs. Gerhart in guidance for more information. Resumes and essays are due to Mrs. Gerhart by March 12th.
Congratulations to the both Archery Teams for placing 1st in the White County MS Tournament this past weekend. MS Archery Team had a tournament high score of 3290. Individually, CMS had 5 archers medal in the bullseye tournament. In the MS Division, Mikayla Harris and Rose Cowan were the 1st and 3rd place Female, and Jackson Harris and Yoshi Yano were the 1st and 2nd Males. In the HS Division, Kelsey Rainey was the 3rd place Female.

The Central Magnet Men's basketball season came to a close last night when they were defeated by the Community Vikings 74-62 in the semi-finals of the Region 6AA tournament.
The Tigers were led by Micah Williams with 15 points, Jayden Hernandez with 11 points and Gage Swanson and Josh Lee chipped in 8 points each.
The Tigers would like to thank all of the fans and the best student section in the state for coming and supporting them this season.
