The Central Magnet Writing Lab is open to every student in every grade whether you are a distance learner or in person. Through the lab, you can get help from peer tutors on any of your writing. Appointments are available during fifth period, but due to Covid-19 precautions, they will take place over Zoom. For more information, visit the writing lab website located under “Student Resources” on the CMS main page and Mrs. Esberger’s webpage. 

Seniors must return the signed Permission form to Attendance to be released after ACT bubbling and ACT testing. No Parent texts or phone calls the day of will be accepted. Thank you. 

The deadline to sign up for the PSAT is today Friday, September 11 in attendance. Please get your form and money turned in today! 

There will be an information meeting concerning the Seal of Biliteracy on Thursday, Sept. 17 in the auditorium at 3:15. There will be a Zoom link provided on Mrs. Dixon's webpage for distance learners to join from home. While ALL interested students are welcome to attend, juniors and seniors are highly encouraged to come and find out how they can earn this prestigious honor.  

Attention all high schoolers!
Culinary Enthusiasts is a club for food-lovers who want to learn about dishes from around the world and to develop their culinary skills.

Join us Saturday, September 12th at 5 pm for a virtual meeting from the comfort of your own kitchen to kick off this year. Anyone who is interested is welcome.

HOSA is starting back up again this year!

The deadline for signing up to become an active member for the 2020-2021 school year is September 25th.

Payment is $15 (checks payable to CMS HOSA). ALL in person learners, please send your money to Harrison. Distance learners, please mail your money to the school (701 E. Main St. Murfreesboro, TN 37130).
We plan on having monthly team’s meetings as we become more comfortable with this year’s CTE club plans. Don’t forget, attending a meeting gives you 1 point! 

National Honor Society members: Please sign up for the club remind and check our Teams page for club announcements. Information about officer elections will go out later this week. 

Young Life Club is back Monday night September 14th at 7:57pm at Sydnie Dawson's Back porch, 3635 Sulphur Springs Rd. Everyone is invited and please bring a mask.  

Attention high school students. Polls for vacant class officer positions are now open. Please take a few moments before 1:00 today to make your voice heard. There is at least one position being voted on for every grade, with all positions up for grabs among freshmen. To vote, simply go to the CMS homepage and find the link that says, "go here to vote in the high school student council elections."

Candidates, congratulations for well-run campaigns. Remember to collect your campaign poster from the cafeteria before leaving today; posters will be trashed over the weekend. Winners will be announced via Twitter this afternoon. Finally, those who are elected need to be on the lookout for an invitation to our Student Council Teams group. See Dr. Hines or Coach Nichols if you have any questions. 

Yearbook picture day for In-Person students will be Friday, September 18th. There will be a separate picture day for Distance Learners on Tuesday, October 13th. Seniors: You have until Friday, October 10th to have your pictures taken at the Loveless Studio. For those that prefer your pictures taken on campus, you can sign up for a time on Tuesday, October 13th. You can find a link to the signup genius for Distance Learners and Seniors on Central's yearbook page. You can also email Mrs. Cynthia Head with questions. 

A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Know your emergency evacuation routes at school and at home. Don’t forget to identify a secondary evacuation route in case your primary route is not available. 

The High School Girls’ soccer team remains undefeated on the season with a 9-0 win over Marshall Co. Avery Pogue had a shutout in goal and scored a goal with a short shift on the field. There was a man of the match performance from Ella Chesney with two goals and two assists and from Maria Kime with a goal and an assist. The remaining goals came from Julia Ann Hamilton, Megan Delaney, Ashleigh Clark, and Jill Londre. Tallying up assists on the night was Ashleigh Clark, Reily Gusman, and Makayla Nolan.

The team moves to 7-0-1 on the season and 5-0 in district play. 

HS Volleyball Varsity and JV beat Giles County last night. They play Summertown tonight at Home. Come out and support your Lady Tigers. JV game at 5 and Varsity at 6.
