Seniors, this is the LAST CALL for Seal of Biliteracy applications. If you haven't already filled out the form, do so by Thursday, March 11th. Everything you need is located on Mrs. Dixon's webpage.
Congratulations to the following students who earned medals on the National Classical Etymology Exam. Silver medalists were Jackson Faulk, Bright Burns, and Noe Rueda. Bronze medalists were Owen Gray, Wyatt Kelton, Eryn Herod, and Matthew Feragola.
Service Opportunity: This Friday is the last day for Beta and Faith40 members to turn in cards to front line workers. The Soles for Souls shoe drive will conclude 3/25. Specifics for both service opportunities are on the Beta Service Page. Ask Dr. Roland if you have any questions.
The National Technical Honor Society is hosting a virtual series of speakers this semester to highlight careers and special topics for the CTE areas of study at Central. Our second speaker session will be this Friday, March 12th at 1:45 pm (during 8th period) with Dr. Sauls, the Dean of the Nursing Department at MTSU. The Zoom link will be available on the NTHS website on Friday, March 12th.
MS Student Council is collecting items for nursing staff working with COVID patients at St. Thomas Rutherford. We are looking for prepacked snacks (peanut butter crackers, cookies, etc.) as well as small packages of lotion, pens and restaurant gift cards to be distributed to the nurses. All donations can be dropped off in Mrs. Miller room (room 218). We will be collecting through Friday, March 26th. Please see Mrs. Miller, Braden Box or Reagan Warren if you have any questions.
Student Council has a limited number of class shirts and 2020-themed ("Can't Mask Our Roar") short sleeve t-shirts still available for purchase at www.cmstees.com. The store will be open until Friday, March 19th but the shirts may sell out before then. Shirts will be delivered to Central for distribution.

Spring Pictures will be taken in the gym on Friday, March 26th. Students will be able to pick their favorite background for this one. These are optional and a detailed schedule will be shared soon. Seniors will take their individual Cap and Gown pictures on Wednesday, April 7th. They will take individual pictures in their college shirts on this day as well.
The Medieval era of music lasted from the 1100s to 1400s. Music in this time period was heavily centered around one-melody religious chanting and rounds.
Speaking of Medieval, did you hear about the role of Medieval musicians during war? They were all LUTE-rs.
AP students: If you want to cancel an AP test you paid for, you need to complete the refund form on the Guidance web page and return it to Mrs Clary before March 12. No refunds can be given after March 12.
Middle school baseball defeated Rock Springs 7 to 3, John Roth got the win pitching. John Roth, Ben Bryant, Collin Wind, Joshua Duggin, Matok Delk and Owen White all had hits, Bryant had two RBI.

JV won 4 to 1, Henry Long got the win. Jon-Micel Courtney had two hits and Thomas Sesler chipped in with a laser for a solid single.

The High School Swim Team had a fantastic meet on Tuesday night against the Rockvale High School Rockets. Central had 17 first place finishes out of 22 events plus many PR's made! Congratulations to the following swimmers who qualified for Regionals in at least one of their events: Brendan O'Bryan, Taylor Walker, Lilly Ann Brown, Cameron Walker, Evan Keegan, Erin Chippeaux, Jackie Dummermuth, George Harris, Jean Drugmand, and Sarah Gwen Arnold. Congratulations to the following swimmers who qualified for State in at least one of their events: Kailey Orr, Parker Dawes, and Jean Drugmand. The Tigers are back at it on Saturday against Green Hill High School! Go Tigers!
