Applications for membership in the National English Honor Society are now available for current sophomores and juniors. You can find the application on Mrs. Esberger's webpage. These are due by the end of the school day on Wednesday, May 5th. Email Mrs. Esberger if you have any questions.
If you are interested in being a part of the team developing next year's newspaper, please go to Mrs. Esberger's website for the application to join. You have until May 14th to complete the application. We look forward to hearing how you can be a part of the staff!
National English Honor Society is selling snacks all week from Mrs. Esberger's room - the second door on the left in the annex. Everything is $1. We have candy, chips, drinks, and more. All proceeds go directly to the Rutherford County Books from Birth program. Help get books into the hands of children by buying treats for yourself!
Congratulations to the high school track team for a strong showing at this past weekend's sub-sectional meet. 15 personal bests were set, along with 4 new school records. Special shout out to those competitors who advanced to the sectional meet at Riverdale on Friday this week: Corey Greeson in shot put and discus, Kaylin Wiley in shot put, Brody Kriegermeier in long jump, the girls 4x800m relay team, Samantha Ouellette in the 800m and 1600m, Emily Bush in the 1600m, Blake Yuenger in the 1600m, and Emma Kate Hamby in the 3200m.
The Central Tennis Team ended its district season with an 8-0 record for both boys and girls. They beat Smyrna and Riverdale in the first round of district play yesterday and move on to the second round of the tournament today. Singles tournament begins next week. Please congratulate them on a great season and come out to Adams Tennis Complex and support your Tiger Tennis.
The lady Tiger softball team lost to Smyrna Monday night 10-0. Payton Nicholson had a double and Caitlin Dodson picked up a single. The lady tigers return to action tonight (Tuesday) as they travel to Moore County.
The Middle School Swim Team competed at the Tri-County Invitational with other Rutherford, Sumner, and Wilson County swim teams this past weekend at the Jimmy Floyd Center in Lebanon. The team placed 6th overall, with the girls' team placing 5th. Congratulations to the following swimmers who had top 6 finishes:
Evie Riley placed 3rd in the 200 IM and 6th in the 50 free; Kim Bao Nguyen placed 2nd in the 50 free and 3rd in the 100 free; Sophia Stringfield placed 6th in the 100 Breaststroke; the girls 200 Yard Medley A Relay with Taylor Kline, Sophia Stringfield, Evie Riley, and Kim Bao Nguyen got 5th place; the 200 Yard Medley B Relay with Fiona McGoffin, Alex Abbott, Peyton Roeder, and Alicia Moreno got 6th place; the Girls 200 Yard Free Relay with Peyton Roeder, Alicia Moreno, Uma Sood, and Alex Abbott got 4th place; and the Girls 400 Free Relay with Evie Riley, Taylor Kline, Sophia Stringfield, and Kim Bao Nguyen got 2nd place. Great job to these swimmers with a fantastic end to the season!
