Attention Juniors and Seniors: Rho Kappa, the National Honor Society for Social Studies, is accepting applications for the 2021-22 school year. High school students interested in being on crew for Radium Girls can go to Mrs. Sweet's theatre website and sign up through the signup genius button. Crews available are stage, Makeup and costume, lighting.
The deadline for 7th grade immunizations is Monday, August 23rd. If the school does not have a copy of your current shot record showing proof that you have received the Tdap vaccine, you will be sent home from school. Middle School volleyball opened their 2021 season on Monday with a hard-fought victory over Oakland Middle School. The Lady Tigers won the first set 25-16, dropped the second set by the same score, but rallied in the third winning 15-10. The victory was a total team effort and our 8th graders first ever victory over Oakland. The JV team fought hard but dropped the match in straight sets 25-21, 25-15. Both teams return to action Tuesday night as they travel to Thurman Francis, with varsity beginning at 4:30.
The Middle School Girls Soccer Team lost a tough one to defending champs Siegel Middle on Monday by the score of 3-1. Lillie Bryant scored her first goal of the season on an assist by Hayley Mangrum. Laila "Vegas" Vaughn also scored in the JV game. Your Lady Tigers next travel to LaVergne for a match on Thursday.
Central Magnet HS Girls’ soccer opened the season with a 9-0 win over Lawrence Co. The goals were scored throughout the team. Ashleigh Clark had a brace while Maddie Degnan, Maria Kime, Reily Gusman, Claudia Mitchell, Julia Ann Hamilton, Zoe London, and Meghan Delaney all scored once. Avery Stojakovich, Jill Londre, Zoe London, Julia Ann Hamilton, and Maddie Degnan all had assists. Alyssa Kini kept the clean sheet in goal. Thursday the girls take on Coffee Co. at Home.
The middle school volleyball team picked up their second win in his meeting nights on Tuesday night against Thurman Francis. The varsity won in straight sets 25-21 and 25-15. Middle hitter Julia Stuible was tremendous at the net, tallying multiple blocks. The JV picked up their first win of the season. Winning by scores of 25-21 and 25-18. The lady tigers return to action Thursday night as they travel to Smyrna.
The Girls' High School Volleyball team played in Tullahoma yesterday. Central won 25-20, 25-18, 25-18. Mia Finley had 16 kills, 6 aces, and 2 digs, Noella Obi had 11 kills, 1 block, 3 aces, and 2 digs. Brooke Filaroski had 23 assists, 1 ace, 1 kill, and 2 digs. EmmaGrace Smith had 14 digs, 1 ace, and 3 assists. Emmalynn Laird had 5 kills, Rylee Zeller had 2 kills, and 1 dig. Hope Patterson had 4 digs, and 4 aces. Grace Martindale had 5 digs.
