Any 6th grade student interested in competing in the 5th annual Central Magnet 6th grade spelling bee needs to fill out the interest form located on Mrs. Stanley's website. Deadline to fill out the form is Friday, February 18 at 3pm. If you do not complete the form, you will not be able to participate.
High school students: We'd love to for you to come by the library and check out this week and pick up a sweet treat on us! Please check your Destiny account before you visit so you can turn in any books when you come. All students who have no overdue books and check out the week of Valentine's Day will get a sweet treat when they visit the library.
UNICEF will be selling coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and other treats next Monday and Tuesday, February 14th through 15th before school and during lunch.

The Middle School Boys Soccer team will be having try-outs next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday on the small soccer field. Any middle school boy who is interested in playing soccer this season should be there at 3:15 ready to start each day. You must have your physical completed and on DragonFly before you will be allowed to participate. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Guthrie in Room 349.
The following High School Swimmers competed at the Tennessee High School State Championship this weekend in Nashville: Cameron Conley in the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle, Parker Dawes in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, Jean Drugmand in the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyle, Caden Sweetman in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, and Taylor Walker in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. All swimmers had great races and finished the season strong. Congratulations to Caden Sweetman who placed 18th in the 50 Freestyle and 25th in the 100 Backstroke. Congratulations to Parker Dawes who placed 25th in the 50 Freestyle. The boys 200 Yard Medley Relay placed 26th and broke a school record.
Congratulations to our archers once again for a great showing this past weekend. The HS team continued its 1st place streak to 3 and the MS team got back on the podium with at 3rd place finish. In the individual awards, Jackson Harris and Owen Taylor took the top two spots respectively, in the MS Male Division, Mikayla Harris and Journie Bobo placed 2nd and 4th respectively, in the HS Female division and Tasman Takayama and Nathan Blunkall took two spots respectively in the HS Male Division. In the 3D tournament, Jackson Harris and Owen Taylor also took the top two spots respectively, in the MS Male Division, Mikayla Harris place 1st, in the HS Female division and Nathan Blunkall placed 2nd in the HS Male Division.
The Central Magnet Men's Basketball team finished out the regular season with a 72-53 victory over the Valor Wildcats on Friday night. The Tigers were led in scoring by Mason Brown and Kyle Messerly who scored 17 points each and Will Becker added 15 points. Elijah Conard added 8 and Jake Maddox chipped in 7 points.
The Tigers will open District 10AAA tournament play on Friday night when they host the Hume Fogg Knights as 6:00 pm.
