6th graders! Please check your emails for a small group opportunity happening Wednesday during CT. If you did not receive an email, but are interested, please email Mrs. Stanley to see if there are available spots!  

The library will be closed on Friday, March 18th to decorate for our first in-person book fair in two and a half years. We are beyond excited! Since we will be transforming the library into a rainforest, we will be away from our desks and unable to check for printing requests. Please make sure to submit all requests by Thursday, March 17th for anything you might need printed for Friday. Come ready to visit the Rainforest Book Fair March 21st-25th. 

Spirit Week is next week!   Look for more information coming about Spirit Day next Friday, March 25th.”  

The Dress Up Days for next week are: 

* Monday - Cozy Day with a Furry Friend (Wear sweats and bring a stuffed animal) 

* Tuesday - Anything but a Backpack Day 

* Wednesday - Country vs Country Club 

* Thursday - Mini-Me (Dress as yourself from a younger time)  

* Friday - Class Colors / Black and Gold" 

 

Congratulations to the Middle School Science Olympiad Team for their success in the Regional Tournament! They advance to the state tournament to be held in April. 

Thistle Farms is in need of donations for a new house opening and their street outreach bags. There’s a list of items needed, check the Beta and Student Council website for those items and more information. Boxes will be placed in Dr. Hines, Dr. Roland’s and Mrs. Vailes room until March 25th.  

Design a T-shirt Contest!!! 

Central Magnet will be hosting a “Light the Night Walk” on Wednesday, May 4th from 4:00 – 6:00 to raise money for the Tennessee Leukemia Lymphoma Society. We will be honoring one of our juniors, Elijah Blank, who is currently undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Leading up to the event we will be selling T-shirts and all proceeds will be donated to LLS in Elijah’s name. We will be asking all faculty, staff, and students to please purchase a shirt and wear in honor of Elijah. More details about the event will be coming soon! 

Please help us design the T-shirt for Elijah and the LLS Walk 

•        All ideas must be submitted to Mrs. Smith in Room 124 by Wednesday, March 23rd.  

•        If you have an idea but aren’t artistic, please talk to Mrs. Smith. She has somebody that can help you with it. 

•        The winning designer and t-shirt will be announced on Friday, March 25th. 

Don't miss your chance to purchase your After-Prom tickets this week! Tickets will be sold during C & D lunch this Wednesday and Friday, March 16 and 18. This is the last chance to buy a ticket for $20 and receive a shirt with your purchase. Payments can be made with cash, check or Venmo. Please come prepared with parent names and cell numbers for both you and your date. Jrs. and Srs. are invited, regardless of attending prom, and their guests (1 per jr/sr). 

Middle School Cheer try-outs will be held April 26th-28th from 3:30-5:30 PM in the CMS gymnasium. If you are interested in trying out, please see Ms. Hale in room 218 for a packet. Thank you! 

Your Tiger baseball team lost to Independence 8-1. Tate Warren threw 5 strong innings on the mound. John Cook and Carter Long had good nights at the plate. Will Robinson came in relief and struck out the side. The tigers will travel to Wilson Central today to take on Beech. Game time is 4:30.  

Jasmyn Stanley drove in four on three hits to lead Central Magnet past Cannon County High School 12-3 on Monday.   Jacey Goetzinger earned the win for the Lady Tigers. The righthander allowed two hits and 1 earned run over five innings, striking out 13.  Ellie Nath threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen striking out 3.  Stanley, Phillips, and Goetzinger each collected multiple hits for Central Magnet Lady Tigers. Kaitlin Polly added a 3-run triple.  Central will host Lavergne Tuesday in a Varsity/JV doubleheader. It’s also free hot chocolate night! Come out and support." 

The Middle School Boys Soccer team lost a tough match last night against Lavergne with a score of 5-3. Scoring goals for the Tigers were Evan Lee, Carson Phillips, and Jacob Gardner. The Tigers look to rebound when they play against Oakland Middle on Wednesday.  
The JV team ended in a 0-0 tie with Lavergne last night in another tough match. They also play Oakland on Wednesday. " 

The middle school softball team kicked off their season last night with a 12-1 win over Lavergne. Elena Peck pitched 4 shutout innings. Regan Turnbow had a double and was fantastic at third base getting the last out of the game. Riley Osborne hit an in the park home run. Marissa Bratsch had her first hit as a Lady Tiger. They return to action on Thursday when they travel to Oakland Middle.
