The library will be closed on Friday, March 18th to decorate for our first in-person book fair in two and a half years. We are beyond excited! Since we will be transforming the library into a rainforest, we will be away from our desks and unable to check for printing requests. Please make sure to submit all requests by Thursday, March 17th for anything you might need printed for Friday. Come ready to visit the Rainforest Book Fair March 21st-25th.
Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society is currently accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA and have taken a minimum of two AP Social Studies courses to be eligible. Applications can be found on the Rho Kappa tab of Mr. Eldridge's website. The deadline to turn in the application and a copy of their transcript is due to Mr. Eldridge in room 115 by March 25th.

Thistle Farms needs donations for a new house opening and their street outreach bags. There’s a list of items needed, check the Beta and Student Council website for those items and more information. Boxes will be placed in Dr. Hines, Dr. Roland’s and Mrs. Vailes room until March 25th.
Tuesday, Beta is hosting a Spike Tournament after school to raise money for Make-a-Wish. Flyers are posted throughout the school with a QR code to sign-up. Cost per team is $5. See Dr. Roland or one of the Beta Officers is you have any questions.
The Class of 2022 is selling a "vintage" Central Magnet sweatshirt as a fundraiser for the Class of 2022. The sweatshirt design is based on a sweatshirt from Central High School. Visit https://rocket.ist/CMS to order a sweatshirt today. Sweatshirts will be on sale through Friday, March 25th.
Are you interested in joining the Ultimate Frisbee Team? Please come to the interest meeting Thursday, March 24th in Mrs. SK's Room, Room 116. We will give insight to the sport of Ultimate Frisbee and give information about the remainder of the season, and upcoming seasons. This is only open to current and upcoming high school students.
In an effort to raise money for the American Heart Association we will be hosting a ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS tournament during the pig out lunch on Friday March 25th. The cost to enter the tournament is $3. There will be 2 separate tournaments, one for high school students and one for middle school students. Central Magnet will be hosting a “Light the Night Walk” on Wednesday, May 4th from 4:00 – 6:00 to raise money for the Tennessee Leukemia Lymphoma Society. We will be honoring one of our juniors, Elijah Blank, who is currently undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Leading up to the event we will be selling T-shirts and all proceeds will be donated to LLS in Elijah’s name. We will be asking all faculty, staff, and students to please purchase a shirt and wear in honor of Elijah. More details about the event will be coming soon!

Varsity Tennis had their first match against Blackman on Tuesday and boy teams swept their matches, bringing home the first official victories of the season. Please congratulate these players when you see them!
Congratulations to the Middle School Boys Varsity Soccer team for the win over Oakland Middle yesterday. The team won a tough match with a score of 2-1. Scoring goals for the Tigers were Dexter Trageser and Jacob Gardner. The JV was also victorious against Oakland Middle winning the game with a score of 2-0. Scoring for the Tigers were Caden Gardner and Ben Hogan. The Tigers play Whitworth Buchanan on Monday here at CMS and all CMS students get in free so come on out and support the team.
The middle school will be playing flag football for their spirit day activity. We plan to have 2 teams per grade (one girls' team & one boys' team). If you are interested in playing, please sign up on the middle school student council website. You must have a signed permission slip to participate
