Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society is currently accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA and have taken a minimum of two AP Social Studies courses to be eligible. Applications can be found on the Rho Kappa tab of Mr. Eldridge's website. The deadline to turn in the application and a copy of their transcript is due to Mr. Eldridge in room 115 by March 25th. 

Middle school and high school students may visit the library anytime during the book fair with money and a pass from the library website. Teachers, please do not send students to the library without a pass.  

Passes will be set for 20-minute blocks. Please sign up for the library pass for the time you plan to visit. If passes for the time you’d like are full, please get a pass for an alternate time or visit the book fair before or after school.  

The library will be selling book fair concessions today and Wednesday until 3:30 and again tonight from 5:00 to 8:00 for high school orientation. Feel free to drop by the library tonight to shop with your families during high school orientation.  

If you’d like to pre-order a Boro Bowl for pickup this Friday morning, come by the library with a pass to pay for your pre-order today, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Wednesday at 3:00 is the latest that pre-orders will be accepted. 

Tuesday, Beta is hosting a Spike Tournament after school to raise money for Make-a-Wish.  Flyers are posted throughout the school with a QR code to sign-up.  Cost per team is $5. See Dr. Roland or one of the Beta Officers is you have any questions. 

The Class of 2022 is selling a "vintage" Central Magnet sweatshirt as a fundraiser for the Class of 2022.  The sweatshirt design is based on a sweatshirt from Central High School. Visit https://rocket.ist/CMS to order a sweatshirt today.  Sweatshirts will be on sale through Friday, March 25th.   

Are you interested in joining the Ultimate Frisbee Team? Please come to the interest meeting Thursday, March 24th in Mrs. SK's Room, Room 116. We will give insight to the sport of Ultimate Frisbee and give information about the remainder of the season, and upcoming seasons. This is only open to current and upcoming high school students.  

The middle school will be playing flag football on spirit day! We plan to have 1 team of girls and 1 team of boys PER grade. Each team will need a minimum of 8... but no more than 11 players. If you are interested in playing please go to the middle school student council webpage to sign up! Last day to sign up is Tuesday March 22. If you have questions see a member of student council or Coach Jones.  

High School is playing Powder Puff for Spirit Day.  If you are interested in playing or coaching for your grade-level see the following Student Council representatives.  Permission slips are on the Student Council website and are due to Dr. Hines by Wednesday, March 23rd.

Young Life Boys vs Girls Club meets tonight at 7:57pm At the YL house 1515 Greenland Drive. This is a competition club so wear you team colors, boys wear blue girls wear pink. Everyone is invited. 

In an effort to raise money for the American Heart Association we will be hosting a ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS tournament during the pig out lunch on Friday March 25th.  The cost to enter the tournament is $3. There will be 2 separate tournaments, one for high school students and one for middle school students. If you would like to sign up for this event please see Coach Jones for an informational flyer.

Design a T-shirt!!! 

Central Magnet will be hosting a “Light the Night Walk” on Wednesday, May 4th from 4:00 – 6:00 to raise money for the Tennessee Leukemia Lymphoma Society. We will be honoring one of our juniors, Elijah Blank, who is currently undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Leading up to the event we will be selling T-shirts and all proceeds will be donated to LLS in Elijah’s name. We will be asking all faculty, staff, and students to please purchase a shirt and wear in honor of Elijah. More details about the event will be coming soon! 

Please help us design the T-shirt for Elijah and the LLS Walk 

•        All ideas must be submitted to Mrs. Smith in Room 124 by Wednesday, March 23rd.  

•        If you have an idea but aren’t artistic, please talk to Mrs. Smith. She has somebody that can help you with it. 

•        The winning designer and t-shirt will be announced on Friday, March 25th. 

The high school baseball team defeated Lexington on Saturday 12 to 4. The Tigers improved to 2 and 2 and the win was Coach Patterson’s 300th career win as a head coach. Adam Apigian got the win on the mound. Carter Maddox led the offense going 2 for 2 with 2 RBI. Carter Long added a hit and scored 3 runs. The team will travel to Eagleville tonight. First pitch is at 5:00.  

Middle School Baseball Tigers fall to 2 and 3 on the season losing to MTCS Saturday night 11 to 3. Henry Long and Garrett Dodson had two hits each, Joshua Duggin, Thomas Sesler, and Jon-Mical Courtney chipped in one hit each.  JV Tigers dropped to 1 and 3 on the season losing to MTCS 3 to 2. Gavin Perkins and Parker Lindquist had hits for the Tigers.  Big week for the MS Tigers with 4 varsity games and 3 JV games scheduled. 

Tickets for After Prom will be sold on the Tuesday and Thursday after spring break for those who need more time to purchase. Tickets will still be $20, but there is no shirt included due to production requirements for the order. It is not too late to join in on this fun event. Hope to see you there!
