This Monday, April 11th, the WORLD CUP SOCCER TOURNAMENT will return to Central after a 2-year hiatus! Each Foreign Language will present a team ready to vie for the FL World Cup Trophy! Everyone is invited out to the main Soccer Field during club time (10:30 - 11AM) on Monday to cheer on your language. For Spanish, wear RED; French BLUE; German GREEN; and for Latin, wear WHITE. Thank you! 

 

The National Spanish Exam will take place MONDAY and TUESDAY, April 11th and 12th for those registered students. As a reminder, all registered need to arrive on time during your normal Spanish class to Lab 134 with ear buds to take the Exam. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Spanish teacher. Thank you!

In addition to the individual winners, the 6th grade team came in 2nd overall, while both the 7th and 8th grade teams placed 1st.  Congratulations to these students!

Attention First Semester AP U.S. Government and First Semester AP Macro Econ Students:

Central Outdoors and Rec. Education Club (CORE) will be selling Sunshine Grams at all lunches this week for $1. Send your favorite teacher or administrator a note and sweet treat to show your appreciation for them this school year!  

 

We are excited to announce the return of College Fair! On Tuesday, April 12 from 5-7 pm (come and go) college representatives will be set up in the gym to provide valuable information and handouts as well as answer any questions you may have. This is a great way to begin or continue your college search. All grades are welcome! A list of colleges that will be in attendance can be found on the Counseling webpage. We hope to see you there! 

 

LLS T-shirts designed by Josie Bush honoring Elijah Blank are on sale now through Friday, April 15th. A link to order shirts may be found on the Central webpage. The cost of the shirt is $20 and all proceeds will be donated in Elijah's name. The grade level in Middle School and High School that raises the most money will receive Double Lunches on a sunny day! Our goal is 100% participation from faculty and students!!  #FightForElijah 

 

Are you a senior wanting to leave your mark on the school or, freshmen, do you want to have an awesome parking pass for when you start driving next year? Join the contest to design our next parking pass. Check out the form on Central's homepage for the guidelines and to submit your designs.  The deadline for submission is Thursday, April 14.

 

Tryouts for the high school cheer team will take place in the Central gym after school beginning April 19th through April 22nd.  Information packets are available on the high school cheer web page or through Ms. Benjamin in Room 120.  All paperwork is due by April 18th.  Please contact Ms. Benjamin with any questions or concerns and we look forward to seeing all prospective cheerleaders on April 19th! 

 

The high school men's soccer team hosted Glencliff last night and emerged victorious with a 5-0 win.  Will Kassebaum had a man of the match performance with 2 goals.  Luke Chabot also had a brace, and Keoni Yadall scored the 5th goal.  Christian Scott and Charles Shamburger had assists. 

 

The Jv team won 3-0 with goals scored by Jace Traughber, Landon Scraggins, and Paul Pepper.  Donald Thirakul and Hau Lamkai had assists.

 

The High School softball team picked up a convincing 11-1 win over visiting Hume Fogg on Thursday. Goetzinger was the winning pitcher, hurling five innings, allowing no earned runs on two hits, striking out seven. Central had 12 hits in the game.  Hali Phillips, Jacey Goetzinger, Megan Weber, and Reese Carlisle all had multiple hits. Phillips led the way with three hits including a triple, 3 RBI and 3 Stolen bases. Their next game will be at home Monday night against Glencliff.  

 

The middle school boys’ soccer team lost a tough match to Siegel yesterday falling 3-1. Scoring for the Tigers was Jacob Gardner. The JV team lost their first match of the season. Scoring for the Tigers in that game was Will Jennings. The team plays again on Monday at Rockvale.
